Arrange Marriage

Chapter 4

Aya's POV

20 minutes later when I finished taking a bath. I know dad and mom was already waiting for me in the dining area.

"Argh ang bagal-bagal mo kumilos, Ayara Arcallana" I said to myself while I'm drying my hair out.

When I finished, I quickly went down because I knew that mom might come back in my room to look for me, so I hurried. When I got to the dining table, mom was right, we did have a guest and it looked like a married couple. Dad made me sit down and I immediately followed his order. But I couldn't help but wonder why we had a visitor so early, I just arrived yesterday but I didn't care that it might not be for me why the married couple visit.

We remained silent at the dining table when I looked at mom and whispered who they were because I had been wondering ever since I saw them. Dad looked at me when he saw me whispering to mom so he spoke suddenly.

"Ah Ayara anak, I forgot to introduce you to them, I apologize " Dad said while wiping his lips and sat properly.

"Mr. And Mrs. Lim, meet my one and only daughter, Ayara" I vowed my head towards them and they smiled at me.

"Ang ganda pala ng anak niyo Mr. and Mrs. Arcallana, hindi ako na-inform" Mr. Lim said while smiling, I smiled to him for the reason that he compliments my natural beauty.

"Ayara, may boyfriend ka na ba?" Mrs. Lim asked me while smiling so I answered it honestly.

"Wala po akong boyfriend Mrs. Lim, wala po akong balak na pumasok sa relationship" I formally answered Mrs. Lim and I smiled to her, so Mrs. Lim smiled back at me.

Yes, I have no intention of getting into a relationship because I just wanted to travel around the world which was my dream then but I couldn't do it because I finished my studies first. Now that I'm finished studying, I'm already free to travel anywhere I want to go. But there's one man I've been waiting for to see again, this is my high school crush, Aki. since 8th grade to 10th grade I've liked him already. I always catch a glimpse of him on his instagram account, he is still handsome to this day and that has not passed. Aki was a nice person when I met him, and I hope he still is.

I stopped in my thoughts when my father spoke.

"Ayara anak, may ibang dahilan ang mag asawang Lim kung bakit sila naririto hindi lamang para makilala ka" I raised my eyebrows at what dad said, then, what is it? If they are not here to meet me?.

"Gusto ka naming ipakasal sa anak ng mag asawang Lim" dad said while looking in eyes. My eyes suddenly widely and because of that, I stood up because of shock.

"What?! Papa, you can't do that. Marami pa akong pangarap para ikasal sa ganitong edad" I replied calmly but I couldn't help but raise my voice because of shock.

"Ayara anak malaki ka na at kailangan mo nang ikasal, and besides, para ito sa kumpanya natin dahil unti-unti itong bumabagsak" Mom responded as she looked into my eyes.

"Kumpanya?! Kung para sa kumpanya, bakit hindi nalang nila sinabi sa akin para tumulong na lamang ako" I said to myself while zoning out when mom reaches for my hand to make me sit down.

"Dad please respect me naman oh, kung para ito sa company natin, you should've told me para nakatulong ako" I directly said to dad with a straight face.

"I'm sorry anak, pero buo na ang desisyon namin ni Mom mo, na ikasal ka sa lalong madaling panahon"

I can't help but think that all my dreams will be destroyed just because of that arranged marriage, and I'm only married on paper. But even if they marry me to whoever it is, I will not allow myself to not be able to fulfill my childhood dreams.
