Cara walked down the street, her jean short overalls laying loosley on her hips as she strolled down the sidewalk. The sound of her tennis shoes under her feet.
Cara found herself walking into Dot's dinner as she was in need to escape the heat as well as something cold to drink.

Though, when she saw the guy working behind the counter a small smirk played on her face. She walked up to the counter sitting on one of the bar stools in front of the boy. "Hey princess" He turned around hearing the girls voice.

"Hey I'm trying to brood" he said mostly sarcastically, receiving a laugh from the girl. "Are you only here to torment me or do you actually want to order something" he said with a small smirk as he continued to pop around taking orders and cleaning tables.

Cara followed him with her chair spinning around each way he went. "Wow you know that is no way to speak to a customer" she said, the playful smirk never leaving her face. "To be a customer you have to actually order something" He said as he walked back behind the counter.

The girl rested her head on her hand, her elbow on top of the counter. She looked up at the boy, playfully glaring, before looking down at a menu he handed her. "Ugh fine" she continued in that same joking tone looking back at him saying "can I just get a lemonade"

Dodge rolled his eyes at her attitude, turned to get her drink. He set the glass down saying "Heard any thing from the judges yet?" His voice a little quieter, she simply shuck her head.

"You know I think we'd make a pretty good team during the games. I mean my amazing and fearless self and your strength and mysteriousness" Cara said taking a sip from her glass. Dodges eyebrow cocked up "Oh really but I thought there aren't teams in Panic" he said. "There isn't, we're just two friends giving each other tips and making sure the other doesn't die" she explained nonchalantly with a small shrug.

"Oh so we're friends now?" the boy said with a smirk. "Barely princess" Cara said looking up at him with a accusing pointed finger in his face. He chuckled again at her words lightly swatting her hand away. "You know? that sounds like a team" he say incredulous a chuckle following after it. Cara rolled her eyes despite the smile on her face and a slight pinkness to her face. "Okay fine don't take the help of my expertise about the game" she said putting her hands up in surrender.

"Ohh your expertise?" Dodge said with a skeptical voice. "Yes. I have an extensive knowledge of the game" she said sensing his skepticism. "You seem to not believe me Mr. Mason?" Cara said raising her eyebrows at him. "What?no, i do, I promise Ms. Levine-Anderson" Dodge said leaning against the counter looking down at her. As Cara continued to look at Dodge something seemed to click in her head, "What?" the boy said with a slight laugh as the girl continued to study his face. "What?" Cara asked, looking back into his eyes realizing they had a little blue in them.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" He asked another breathy laugh. "Nothing it's just you look so familiar is all" Cara said a small laugh coming from her lips. Her head still resting on the palm of her hand. "Where are you from Dodge? Other than mysterious monochrome cowboy land." Cara asked remember the time she saw him at the rodeo and last night in bed as she scrolled through his instagram.

He laughed at her words before saying "Oklahoma" Dodge stated slowly, his tone a little more confused now. Cara continued to look at him, Dodge saw a customer walk in so he grabbed a menu and a glass of water to give them. Cara continued to think lighting chewing at her lip trying to remember how she knew him. 'Andrew Mason' a name that always came up when she thought of Dodge as well as 'super hot' but, 'Andrew' more importantly.

As Dodge walked over again, "Andrew Mason" Cara mumbled to herself not realizing the boy was behind her "yeah" Dodge said looking for who said his name. Cara turned to look at him. "Andrew Mason?" The girl repeated though it came out as more of a question. The boy cursed himself under his breath. "We were in the same class in 4th and 5th grade" Cara said as he walked back behind the counter.

"Really?" the boy asked, looking back at the girl. "yeah sequoia elementary." Her words made him realize she was right. His mouth made an 'oh' shape as he silently nodded. "shit I can't believe I didn't notice, sorry" He said rubbing the back of his neck. She simply said, "No it's okay, i mean it took me year to realize" she shrugged her shoulders. Hearing her phone ding, she pick the device up reading "Meeting at Nat's. the court is hearing the trial of Heather Nill vs. Natalie Williams" the text from Bishop read.

Cara was a little confused as she had no clue they were fighting. "Looking back up at Dodge she said "I got to go" her voice reflecting her confused mood. "Why do you sound so confused?" Dodge said with a laugh, "I don't really know what going on" She replied with a laugh getting up from her seat placing a couple bucks on the counter top. Dodge picked the money up handing it back to her, "Oh don't worry it's on the house" Cara hesitantly lifted her hand to his saying, "are you sure?"

"Yeah, you saved me from another boring hour at work let me atleast pay for your drink" He said, another laugh. Cara skeptically took the money placing back in her wallet. "Thanks" She turned around and started making her way out of the family dinner not before yelling "Bye princess" back at the boy. She made her way again down the sidewalk that lead to Natalie's house trying to wipe the blush from her cheeks and get rid of the stupid giddy feeling in her stomach.
