Cara had moved to Carp, Texas at the end of 8th grade, from Oklahoma one her first days she met two girls named, Heather Nill and Natalie Williams as well as a boy, Bishop Moore. Cara was sleeping over at Natalie's or Nat's, house and they had told her about the local game the town had played each summer, Panic. They told her that it was played each summer and that only graduating seniors could play, that there were new judges each year though no one knew who they were.
According to Heather, she had seen the signal earlier meaning the first event was tonight. "We should go" Cara said the whole thing sounding exciting. "What? We can't" They both said looking at her "Why not, we could just go to watch come on" she says "you could give me a real Carp welcome" she urged looking between the two girls.
They look at each other, before Natalie says "okay come on but, my dad can't find out" she swings her legs over the side of the beg where she was sitting. "He won't, don't worry" Cara said with a chuckle as they slid on some shoes and they creeped out of the house quietly. They snuck out of the house and walked to a place where the challenge would take place it was a small lake that had a rocky cliff near it.
The three girls, walked through the woods quietly giggling as they made dumb jokes and fun conversation. They walked to the lake, arm in arm trying not fall over the leaves and stick. They saw the lights and heard the chatter, passing through the tree line they saw some teens and it looked like there was one on the cliff. "Holy shit are they gonna jump" Cara said shocked looking between the two girls.
She looked back at the boy and he jumped after saying his name, which Cara didn't get to hear. Seeing him jump off the cliff, she was mostly shocked and worried but, another part of her wanting to be the one jumping as it looks so fun.
