Your eyes kept darting towards the kitchen door as you were cooking. Nat and Steve were sat opposite you on the massive island but they weren't helping because they knew not to get in the way while you were cooking. It's an ongoing joke in the avengers tower that you are way to easily stressed.

"Y/n? Y/N?!" Steve raised his voice slightly. You snapped out of your trance. "Are you okay?" He asked concerned.

"Yeah I'm fine, why?"

"I mean we both said your name about 10 times before you answered and you didn't hear the timer for the oven" Nat raised her eyebrows.

"OH SHIT-"

"I already got it, don't worry" Steve chucked.

"We figured you were just concentrating so we left you but you're acting really strange" Nat narrowed her eye, knowing something was wrong.

Just as you were about to scoff and tell Nat and Steve they were worrying about nothing, the kitchen door opened and your head turned so quickly with a smile on your face.

But it quickly fell slightly.

"Hey y/n" Sam said, sticking his head around the door.

"Alright Bird Boy. What do you want?" You smiled a bit. You loved Sam, he was always joking and laughing and above all, he was always kind to you while not treading on eggshells around you like a lot of the team did when you first joined.

"Calm down!! Just wanted to know when the foods gonna be ready so I know if I've got time for a run"

"Bloody hell Sam, careful you might stress her out" Steve laughed while dodging an apple you threw at him.

"You've got time for a run Sam, not a long one though"

"That's great, thanks y/n!! Cant wait to eat your food tonight!"

You laughed "Get outta here Wilson"

As Sam left Nat's head snapped towards you.

Steve noticed the shared look between you and Nat. Nat knew what you were thinking and she knew she was right by the look you were giving her.

"You've been waiting for Bucky this entire time!"

"Don't be ridiculous Nat"

Steve seemed to become very interested all of a sudden. "How'd you figure that out love?"

"This whole time she's been distracted and glancing at the kitchen door, then when Sam opened the door, she smiled so widely, I thought she'd gone mental. Yet when she saw it was Wilson, her smiled dropped a bit. As if she was expecting someone else. And before, she invited Bucky to come hang out with us while she cooked"

Steve looked at you "She's got a point y/n. You gonna fight your case or accept my girls a genius?"

"She may be a genius Steve, but she's not right about this. I don't even know what you're implying Nat"

Natasha rolled her eyes. "You damn well know what I'm implying y/n. You like James Buchanan Barnes and you've been waiting for him to walk through that door all evening"

Steve gasped "Do you like him??"

You looked at Natasha and the look on her and Steve's face made something in you want to confess everything.

"I mean-"

All of a sudden there was a clatter by the entrance to the kitchen and Bucky came running in through the door, a bit out of breath

"Oh my god, I am so sorry y/n, Bruce started talking to me and I completely lost track of time and it's completely my fault. I'm so sorry" he said breathlessly.

"Oh Bucky it's fine I promise, don't worry about it" you chuckled slightly, with a huge grin if your face which Nat and Steve shared a look about. "Why are you so out of breath? Are you okay?"

"Well, I was on the other side of the building with Bruce and when I realised the time, I ran here"

You raised your eyebrow.

"Yeah okay and I tripped and fell over"

You tilted your head.

"Yes! Fine okay! I tripped and fell over several times!"

"Clumsy pillock" you laughed to yourself.

Bucky shoved you playfully "Um, no! You're the clumsy one! Anyway, what're we having?" He asked while you smiled up at him.
