The next morning, Devi woke up to aggressive knocks on her cabin door. She wiped the drool on her chin away and was met with Aiden tapping his feet impatiently.
"What the hell are you doing?" Devi stared at him with half-open eyes. "Isn't it like 6 in the morning?"
"Devi. Breakfast is already over." Aiden entered the cabin and started looking through his friend's clothes.
"I never needed breakfast anyway." She grumbled and fell on her bed, burying her face into her soft pillow.
"Well, that's too bad. I saved you a piece of toast. Get up and put this on so you look decent and feel warm enough when we find Grover and Percy." He threw Devi's sweatshirt with an image of three spidermen pointing at each other.
"Ugh. Whyyy?"
"Because I saw Grover eavesdropping on Chiron and Zoe when I was heading over to the training area and I think it's about Annabeth."
"I still don't understand why you try to practice at the break of dawn. Clarisse isn't even here to beat you up."
The boy blushed out of embarrassment. "I just like training early. Now hurry up." He dragged her out to the meadow where the satyrs were chasing the wood nymphs.
It was easy to spot Grover and Percy. Their dark hair stood out against the snowy white blanket that covered the meadow.
"Hey, Grover." Aiden nodded. "Percy."
Aiden nudged Devi. She grunted. "Grover. Fish Sticks."
"Shut up Gloworm."
"Anyways, as I was saying About three in the morning Zoe came to the Big House and demanded to talk to Chiron. She looked really panicked."
"What was she panicked about?" The Son of Hephaestus asked.
"I don't know. They were talking quietly."
Devi's brows furrowed. "Wait, you said it was three in the morning, so how do you know this?"
Grover blushed. "I was sort of camped outside the Artemis cabin."
"What for?"
"Just to be, you know, near them."
"You're a stalker with hooves," Percy said.
The three demigods laughed at the satyr's red face.
"I am not! Anyway, I followed her to the Big House and hid in a bush and watched the whole thing. She got really upset when Argus wouldn't let her in. It was kind of a dangerous scene."
"What did she say?" Devi asked.
Grover grimaced. "Well, she starts talking really old-fashioned when she gets upset, so it was kind of hard to understand. But something about Artemis being in trouble," Devi let out a breath she didn't know she was holding in. Percy glanced at her. She avoided his inquisitive eyes. It was not the right time to tell them about her vision. "and needing the Hunters. And then she called Argus a boil-brained lout... I think that's a bad thing. And then he called her—"
"Who, wait. How could Artemis be in trouble?" Percy kept his eyes trained on the girl. He saw how she winced when he mentioned the goddess's name.
"I...well, finally Chiron came out in his pajamas and his horsetail in curlers and—"
