Sophia’s POV

“Pens up!” Ian declared, announcing that the time was up for the test. I raised mine instantly, looking around calmly. I wasn’t in fear since I had finished my test a few minutes ago. I had actually managed to focus in his class today and the reading ahead I had been doing for a while now also helped me.

He walked around, collecting the scripts from each students one by one. The ones he had collected their scripts stood up and left. He got to me and held my eyes for a moment before breaking eye contact and collecting the script from me.

I ran my hands through my hair and walked out of the lecture hall, feeling a little bit of pride. I had no doubt that I would pass my tests today, afterall I had studied this time.

My phone vibrated twice in my pocket and I took it out, seeing that Ian had sent me a text. “I want you in my house today.”

I raised a brow and sent him my text. “Have you forgotten? Today is Monday.” I reminded him.

His reply came in almost instantly. “No, sweetie. I haven’t forgotten. Yes today is Monday. I want you in my house.”

“Why can’t we just meet in an hotel?” I shot back.

“Too risky.” He answered. I sighed.

“And for how long will I stay at your place? My class ends by four pm.” I sent.

“You’ll leave tomorrow morning.” He replied. “Or don’t you want to come?”

“Of course I do.” I sent back.

“Then I’ll order your ride. He’ll pick you up by five.”

“Noted.” I answered and dropped my phone into my bag as I walked into my next class.

“I’m going to Ian’s place,” I said as I walked into my room. Jenny was lying on her bed, her legs up and hee phone to her ear.

“I’ll speak to you later, Ronan. Sophia just came in,” she said into the phone and then looked at me as she emoced the phone from her ear. “You’re going to Ian’s house?” She repeated with a raised eyebrow.

“Yes Jenny. You heard me the first time,” I answered with a roll of my eyes as I dumped the contents of my bag on my bed.

“Today is Monday,” she stared, sitting up on her bed and staring at me with a frown. “And from what you said, his place is quite far. It’s almost four thirty.”

“Yes, it’s almost four thirty,” I agreed.

“And when will you come back into this place?” She asked.

“Tomorrow, stop acting like an overbearing mother bear, plus you can go and stay at Ronan’s house if you’re going to miss me so much,” I teased.

She gagged then scoffed. “Puh-lease. I’m very sure I won’t even feel your absence,” she answered with a scoff. I chuckled and shook my head while I packed all the things I’ll need. It was almost five now and Ian will call anytime to tell me that the driver was outside.

“Soph?” Jenny called out tentatively. I turned my head to look at her, raising a brow.

“Yeah?” I asked.

“You should take things slow. At your own pace. You shouldn’t let anyone rush you. You know that, right?” She asked and I smiled, nodding my head at her.

“I know that. Thanks. And it’s going at my own pace, I promise,” I replied her.

“Good,” she answered. “Now hurry up and leave. Maybe I’ll have Ronan come over,” She added slyly.
