Sophia’s POV

My alarm went off for the umpteenth time in ten minutes and I turned around on the bed, groaning tiredly and gritting my teeth as my hands searched for the clock. I hit snooze instantly and yawned, wanting to go back to bed when I realized with a frown that today, classes were starting again and I couldn’t afford to miss any classes.

I ran my hands through my hair as the alarm rang again and I turned it off this time then I sat up on my bed. I wasn’t in the mood of going to school but I didn’t have much choice. Missing classes would only mean that I was going to end up failing those classes and I wasn’t ready for that yet. I needed to keep my clean records.

I yawned and then covered my mouth before getting up from the bed and walking sluggishly to my closet. It was just twelve minutes past six and I was sure Jenny was still I her bed having her beauty sleep while I was the one awake, getting ready and will still go down to make breakfast for us.

I wished I was as confident and relaxed as she was. The fact that she never bothered herself with overthinking that missing classes will lead to her failure never failed to amaze me.

I picked out the clothes I wanted to wear today and threw them on the bed. It was a pair of jeans and a shirt. I went to my shoe rack and picked out a sneaker that went well with it then I rushed into the bathroom. I still had to spend hours attending to my hair. I got into the bathtub and started with taking care of my hair as gently as I could and after being sure that my hair was soft and untangled, I had my bath and then brushed my teeth before I left the bathroom to style my hair and finally wear my clothes.

After wearing my clothes, I went downstairs, hoping to at least see Jenny sitting downstairs but of course, that didn’t happen. It only meant one thing, she was still asleep.

I dropped my bag on the couch and then went back up the stairs to her room and knocked on her door once. There was a mumbled reply and I rolled my eyes before pushing her door open. As I expected, she was still cuddled up beneath her blanket and sleeping soundly.

I walked to her and tapped her gently. “Wake up,” I told her but she pushed my hand away, going back to sleep and turning her back on me.

“Jenny!”

“Leave me alone,” she mumbled, turning around on the bed. “I don’t get why you’re waking me up this early in the morning.”

“Classes start today, have you forgotten?” I asked, raising a brow. There was an high chance that she never knew that classes were starting today.

“Really? We’ll just go tomorrow,” she answered, shrugging slightly before closing her eyes again. I shook my head firmly.

“Not this time. Get up and let’s go,” I insisted.

“I don’t know why you’re eager to go to class today. It’s not like Ian is there, is it?” She asked and then opened her eyes again. “Are they back? Didn’t they say they were going to spend a few weeks or months there?”

“He’s not back yet, Jenny. Not that I know of,” I replied, my shoulders dropping. I haven’t even heard from him since they all left last week and it bothered me but I wasn’t sure there was anyway I could get through to them so I wasn’t going to try. Plus I didn’t want to distract him or get him worried by reach out to him so he will abandon all his work and come to me. That wasn’t nice.

“So why are you rushing to class? Is there another man that I don’t know of?” She asked and I frowned at her.

“Why would you even insinuate that?” I asked, raising a brow at her.
