Sophia’s POV

I turned around on my bed, getting restless that Ian hadn’t returned any of my many calls and texts since yesterday. I sighed, my eyes wide open and staring at the ceiling in frustration. I didn’t know what I was supposed to be doing right now if I wasn’t talking to him. It had kind of become my daily routine, talking to him. And now that routine was about to be ruined.

I sucked in my lower teeth, staring at the ceiling. I was bored and I really wanted to speak to him. Jenny was currently still asleep so I couldn’t disturb her but I was restless and I needed someone to talk to. I signed as I turned around on the bed again, hating how restless I had really become.

I ran my hands through my hair in frustration and stared up at the ceiling before I sat up on the bed and decided to try to call him again one more time. I knew he was at home, he did tell me that he was going to e at home this weekend starting today, Friday, but what he didn’t tell me was that be wouldn’t be picking my calls or anything.

Plus we were supposed to meet today anyways. Maybe he was too busy and he couldn’t pick up my calls or reply my text? But I knew he would at least explain to me why he couldn’t reply and he’d promise to reply when he got the chance. Ian wouldn’t just leave me hanging like that.

I bit down on my lips hard as I dialed his number. It said his number was busy. I sighed and shook my head before dropping my phone. Maybe I was being paranoid and he was still asleep since it was just nine am but Ian doesn’t sleep in.

Well maybe he did this time, I tried to convince myself. Jenny and I were supposed to go check the house her father bought for us to stay in throughout our stay in the university before I go to Ian’s house so I should just get up and go and prepare for that so we can leave early and I can also get to Ian’s house early.

I climbed down from bed, running my hands through my hair, before pulling off my night wears and wrapping my towel around my body. I went to have my bath and washed my hair then brushed my teeth before coming back out of the bathroom and going straight to the vanity. I picked up my hair oil and oiled my hair then brushed it carefully with a wide toothed comb then made it into a slick low bun and then I used my face and body products then dressed in a casual joggers and t-shirt. I looked over at Jenny’s bed and envied how she always slept like she had no worries at all. I could never sleep like that. There would always be something running in my head one way or another.

I walked up to her bed and tapped her. “Good morning, sunshine. Get up,” I said as I shook her gently.

She raised one hand, moving it around till it touched my face and then she pushed me away. “Leave me alone.”

“You should get up, Jenny. Remember we still have to go see the house,” I reminded her.

“We can always go in the afternoon,” she whined. “Can you just let me have my beauty sleep?”

“I’m afraid not. Get up,” I insisted, grabbing her hand and dragging her. She quickly sat up before she could fall off the bed and then she glared at me. “The fuck is your problem?”

I gave her a grim smile. “Good morning. Get up and get ready so we can go check the house.”

She turned her head and looked at the clock on her night stand before glaring at me. “Sophie it’s just ten thirty am! And your waking me up like it’s almost four pm! What the fuck is wrong with you?”

“I have plans for my day,” I answered flatly. “So let’s just get on with this.”

She shot me a glare like she would love nothing more than to have my head on a platter at the moment. I shot her a grim smile in return and sat up on my bed, stretching my legs out and waiting for her to just get ready so we could leave already.

“I swear I’m going to kill you for this,” she murmured in annoyance as she threw her blanket off her body and stalked off. I smiled and shook my head at her as she walked into the bathroom to have her bath.

It took her almost an hour, or more, before she got done and came out with a towel wrapped around her body and another one wrapped over her hair. She ignored me and went about doing all her necessities before he finally dressed up in a mini jean skirt that hugged all her curves and a long sleeved top. I smiled and gave a silent sigh. I’ve always loved her effortless style.

She tied her hair in a ponytail and turned to me with a glare. “Well are you going to get up or not?” She snapped.

I smiled at her as I grabbed my phone and get up. “You don’t mean you’re still angry with me?” I teased, pulling her cheek. She slapped my hand away.

“Don’t worsen my mood,” she answered flatly as she grabbed her car keys and her phone and then began to stalk out of the room. I grabbed my bag and my phone then ran out after her, locking our door behind us.

I got into the car with her and then she revved the engine before driving out of the dorm. “First we’re going to a nice place to eat. I’m hungry right now and I can’t bear the terrible food of one of those restaurants around here.” She looked at me and glared. “Why couldn’t you have ordered something for us?”

“It skipped my mind,” I replied with a shrug. That wasn’t a lie. I was too preoccupied thinking about Ian that I had forgotten that we were going to eat this morning.

“Yeah well what were you thinking?” She asked.

“Nothing,” I lied.

“You didn’t wake me up early this morning just because you want to see the house, Soph. Why did you wake me up this early? Why are you even in a rush?” I demanded.

“Ugh…sigh. Fine. You got me. I need to get to Ian’s place today. He hasn’t been picking up my calls or replying my texts and I fear that something is wrong,” I answered with a sigh.

“Uh…well he’s probably too busy to answer,” she replied with a shrug. I shook my head.

“If he was going to be too busy then he’d have told me. I know he’d have told me,” I answered, my shoulders dropping as we pulled up in a restaurant.

“Then maybe he’s not around? Maybe he went somewhere and there’s terrible network?” She suggested.

“Like I said, he’d have told me,” I replied her as we got down from the car and I slammed the door hut. She locked the door and then we both stepped in to eat. I ordered Mac and cheese while she ordered pizza. Jenny was kind of a sucker for fast food and junks yet she never for fat. She had the perfect body.

“Alright then,” she said as she took a slice of pizza and dug into it.

“How’s Ronan?” I asked with a mouthful of food.

“Oh he’s fine,” she answered, red coloring her cheeks s she refused to meet my eyes. I grinned.

“You really do like him, huh?” I asked with a raised eyebrow.

“Can’t help it,” she answered with a chuckle and I shook my head.

“Well how much do you know about him?” I asked with a raised eyebrow and she dropped her slice of pizza, shooting me a look.

“What do you mean?” She asked, her tone defensive.

I sighed. She needed to know that I was just looking out for her and I wasn’t the bad guy. “You know what happened in highschool,” I answered her with a sigh. “I just don’t want a repeat of that.”

Her mood turned sour instantly. “Why would you compare Ronan to him?” She asked, a scowl forming on her face.

“I’m just looking out of you,” I assured her. “How well do you know this guy? How well do you trust him? Huh?” I asked and she looked away from me.

I sighed and shook my head. “Jenny, I promise, all I’m trying to do is lookout for you. Okay?”

“Let’s just go check the house,” she answered, pushing her hair backwards and getting up from the chair.

“Jenny,” I called out with a sigh but she was already walking out of the restaurant. I cleared our bills and hurried out after her.
