Bondita was dumbstruck, seeing that book in Anirudh's hand. She didn't know what to say, so she lowered her gaze.

Anirudh made his way to her and lifted her face with his index finger, to meet his gaze. "Nazre churana tab jata hai jab koi galat kaam karta hai."

He was finding her reaction totally amusing. Her cheeks were the deepest shade of red and frankly speaking, he was just messing with her just to see her blush.

"Answer me, Bondita," he let out softly.

"Woh... Patibabu..." she fumbled over her words, feeling her cheeks literally burning in embarrassment. "Woh... Batuk..."

"Batuk? Batuk kya?" He refrained the smile which was threatening to appear on his lips. It was so hard to maintain a stern look when she was looking this much adorable!

"Batuk gave me this book to read," she let it out in one breath and closed her eyes instantly, expecting to get an earful.

Anirudh ended up bursting into laughter, not being able to control himself.

Bondita opened her eyes at his laughter, totally stunned by that. She knew he would scold her, but here, he was laughing at her. What happened to the patibabu she knew?

"Patibabu, you are laughing?" she couldn't help but ask.

"Why won't I laugh, Bondita?" he spoke in between his laughs. "Tumhe laga main tumhe datunga kya?"

She nodded innocently.

Anirudh stopped laughing finally, but a smile was constant on his lips. He gently cupped her cheeks and gave a small peck on her lips, surprising her.

"It's okay. You are an adult. You are free to read whatever you want. Why will I scold you now for this?" he pointed out, softly caressing her red cheeks.

"But... I..." She certainly wasn't expecting that answer from her husband.

"As I said, you are an adult and you don't have to study or something that reading novels would be distracting for you. You achieved your goal of becoming a barrister. So now, you are free to do whatever you want, okay?"

"Then why did you charge me like that?" she inquired, totally confused.

"That's simply to mess with you and see you blush. And I am successful in both of my pure intentions," as soon as he said that, Bondita slightly pushed his hands away from her cheeks.

"That's so mean! You are mean, Patibabu," with that, she puffed her cheeks and crossed her arms against her chest.

Anirudh laughed at her antics. "Okay, fine, fine. I am sorry," he let out and popped her puffed cheeks.

"By the way," Bondita looked at him, "How did you find this book? I remember I hid it well from you."

"I was looking for something in the drawer of your side and this book's title caught my eye. It was the moment I realized what my wife was reading behind my back." He leaned against the table, and uttered, "I am actually hurt, Bondita. Ask why."

"Why?" she furrowed her brows.

"You are relying on a book for information on love and lust. You could've easily asked me."

"You would've told me the same things this book was teaching me. So what's the difference?" Bondita inquired cluelessly.

Anirudh put on a straight face and cleared his throat, "Well, the book is giving you theoretical explanation, but I can give you both practical and theoretical explanation. Anyway, it's time for dinner now. Let's go," with that, he walked out of the study, leaving Bondita alone.
