Bondita wore a baby pink saree. After she managed to hide the love bites with some makeup, she was tying her hair into a bun.
Anirudh got out of the bathroom and admired his adorable wife. "Let your hair down. Don't tie it," he let out, startling her at the sudden voice.
"Uffo, Patibabu!" she said, placing a hand over her chest. "Why do you scare me all the time like that?"
His lips curved into a smile. "I enjoy scaring you."
Bondita took Anirudh's barrister robe and handed it to him. "One day, I will scare you. I swear on Dugga Maa."
He chuckled as he finished wearing the robe. "It isn't so easy to scare me."
She looked at him sharply. "Are you challenging me?"
He shrugged. "Take it in whatever sense you want to."
"Fine. Challenge accepted," she grumbled, following Anirudh, who was now standing in front of the mirror, fixing his hair.
Bondita started tying her hair. "I can't let my hair down and go out. The place where I am going to submit my papers, there will be men only, right? What if they think I am unmarried or try to hit on me?"
Anirudh was already done getting ready, so he took the sindoor container and turned to her.
"Idhar dekho tum," he instructed and she looked at him.
He took a pinch of sindoor from the container and filled her hairline gently; as usual, a bit of sindoor fell on her nose.
"Now, people won't assume you are unmarried. And hitting on you? Everyone knows you are a barrister," he said with a smile, wiping the sindoor off her nose.
She was awestruck at his gesture. Her heart was fluttering at his words. Was he marking his territory with that sindoor? She would never mind that. After all, she was all his and he was all hers. One thing Batuk's crappy book taught her was the 'MINE' tag.
"If you are done getting ready as well, let's go downstairs," his words brought her out of trance. "Everyone must be waiting for us."
She nodded and the two of them went downstairs.
Bondita directly went to the kitchen to serve the breakfast as Mala said she would prepare the breakfast today.
Chameli and Mala were in the kitchen.
"Bondita," Mala greeted with a tight-lipped smile. "What brings you here?"
Bondita furrowed her brows in confusion.
"What's with that question, Choti patni?" Chameli turned to Mala, clearly displeased. "Bondita has a right to be wherever she wants to."
"I am sorry if it came out to be rude," Mala instantly corrected herself. The last thing she needed was Chameli to snitch about her to Keth, who was already mad at her. "It wasn't my intention, Bondita."
Bondita smiled softly. "It's okay, Mala. So is everything ready to be served for breakfast?"
"Yes," said Mala.
"Bondita, we are serving everything on the table, don't worry. Just make Anirudh Dada's coffee," Chameli informed her. "I already made Sasurji's gud wali chai, Som's black coffee, and Batuk's hot chocolate."
Bondita nodded with a smile and started making Anirudh's coffee.

"Will you drive there?" Anirudh asked Bondita as the couple got out of the haveli. "I am telling you. Take the driver."
She shook her head, clutching the file closer to her chest. "Patibabu, let the driver go with Batuk and Som."
"But... I can still drop you and—" he was instantly cut off by her.
"Patibabu, you don't have to do that. You have to go early for the hearing, right? So you cannot be late." She placed a hand over his forearm. "Don't worry. I will be safe and sound."
Anirudh didn't look fully satisfied with that. "I am not having a good feeling about this. Let me drop you off."
"Uffo, Patibabu!" She slapped her forehead dramatically. "You are just too much. You told me to do all of this alone, remember? So please, let me do this. I just have to submit this file. That's it."
He glanced at her and seeing her determination, he sighed. "Okay, fine." Instantly, he leaned closer and planted a small kiss on her cheek. "Take care. Best of luck," he whispered into her ear.
She felt heat rushing to her cheeks as she took a step behind. "What are you doing? We are outside!"
"Inside or outside, you are still my wife," he declared with a smile, and she couldn't help but smile as well.
Sparing one last glance at Bondita, he got into his car. He didn't feel like leaving her alone.
"Bondita's Dugga Maa, please protect her," he mumbled under his breath and started his car.
After he left, Bondita also got into the car. Just before she could start driving, Mala and Chameli called out, "Bondita!"
Bondita looked at them with worry, as they gasped for breathing. "What's wrong? Did I forget something?"
"No, actually, we wanted you to have dahi-shakkar before you step out as today is a big day for you," Chameli said and Bondita noticed a bowl and spoon in Mala's hand.
She looked at them quizzically. "But... Kakasasurji already fed me that before stepping out."
"We know, but we made this specially for you — with extra sugar," Mala chimed in. "But if you don't want to eat... it's okay."
Bondita smiled at her jethanis', seeing they cared so much for her. "It's okay. Feed it to me."
"Awesome!" Chameli chirped and Mala handed the spoon to Chameli at first.
"Since you are older than me in relation, please you feed her at first, badi patni," said Mala.
Chameli nodded and fed Bondita a spoonful of curd and sugar. "All the best, Bondita."
Then Mala did the same. "Hope everything turns out perfect."
"Thank you so much for all these wishes!" Bondita was beyond happy seeing their efforts for her. "Okay, now I am going. Bye, bye!"
Bondita started the car, leaving the RC haveli.
She kept the file on the passenger seat, to keep a constant eye on it.
While driving, all of a sudden, Bondita noticed a bullock cart right in front of her. She tried to slow down her car, but her head started to feel dizzy.
'What is happening to me?' she wondered and her vision started to get blurry more.
Not being able to think properly, Bondita took a turn toward a tree and her car collided with the tree, resulting in her head hitting the steering wheel.
Her vision turned dark.
