"Bondita!" Anirudh hollered, his eyes eagerly searching for his beloved wife as he scanned the living room.
Trilochan, Barsha, Chameli, and Mala were in the home mandir, showing their gratitude to Durga Maa.
Hearing Anirudh's voice, Trilochan rushed out. "Areh, Anirudh beta. How did your case go? Jeet gaya?"
Anirudh nodded, making Mala smile with pride. Her Anirudh Babu was a gem, after all! She wasn't praying to Durga Maa for Bondita, in fact, she was praying for Anirudh's success.
"Did Bondita return home, Kaka? Where is she? I—" Anirudh was interrupted by Trilochan.
"Areh, ek baar mein kitne sawal puchte ho? Your wife is absolutely fine. She just had a minor accident and—" Trilochan tried to calmly say it because he knew his nephew would go crazy. And as expected, he did.
"Accident?!" Anirudh's eyes grew as wide as saucers. "Bondita had an accident and you didn't even bother to call me, Kaka? How can you not inform me?"
"It wasn't my fault. Bahu told me to not inform you as your important case is going on," Trilochan let out with a frown.
Anirudh ran his hands through his hair in frustration and let out a humorless chuckle. "Always, Kaka. Always, you support her, even when you know you shouldn't!" And with that, Trilochan and Anirudh started their argument.
Meanwhile, Bondita, who had just gotten out of a shower, heard the chaos and instantly went downstairs.
"Woh mana leti hai, Anirudh, what can I do about that?" Trilochan pointed out, making Anirudh roll his eyes.
"Kaka, it's all your fault, do you know that? You always helped her and—"
Bondita interrupted the duo with her soft-innocent voice, "Patibabu, aap aa gaye?"
The look Bondita gave — that puppy eyes look — it almost melted Anirudh. However, when his eyes fell on the wounded forehead of hers, he glared at her and approached her.
"Niche kyun aiyi ho? Upaar chalo," Anirudh muttered and entwined his hand with hers. Then they started going upstairs, Bondita sparing one last glance at Trilochan, assuring him with her eyes that she would handle Anirudh.
"Chameli Bahu," Trilochan called out as he sat on a couch. "Please make me a cup of gud wali chai. Iss Nalayak ne dimaag kharab kar diya hai."
Chameli nodded and rushed to the kitchen.
Barsha glanced at Mala and hinted at her to say something to Trilochan.
"Sasurji..." Mala spoke up and he looked at her, waiting for her to continue speaking. "Can my maa stay here for some days, in this haveli, if you don't mind?"
Trilochan glanced at the mother-daughter duo. He would've never agreed to that and sent Barsha to the outhouse if it was a usual day. But today, Barsha saved his beloved Bahu. So he made an exception this time.
"Sure. Barsha ji can stay for some days," the moment he gave the permission, Mala wanted to jump in happiness, but refrained from doing so.
"Thank you so much, Sasurji," she said with happiness beaming in her voice.
He just nodded.
Mala took Barsha to her room.
The moment Mala closed the door, Barsha went to Mala and clutched her hair.
"Ouch! Maa, it's painful!" Mala winced in pain, but Barsha didn't leave her.
"It should be! What was that behavior in front of your sasur? How can you show your happiness like that? Didn't I tell you to be a respectful woman as the badi bahu of Roy Chawdharys? Is this called being respectful?" she spat out and finally left Mala's hair.
