(SOPHIES POV): "Sophie." "Sophie!" "SOPHIE!" My eyes shot open. I blinked a few times before focusing in front of me. "Elwin?" I croaked, surprised by the tone of my voice. My muscles felt stiff as if I had just woken up from a long nap. Elwin helped me move to a more comfortable and easier to see position. "How long was I out for?" Elwin hesitated. "Two days."

"WHAT!" I shouted, then tensed from the movement. I looked down to see my leg wrapped in a cocoon of bandages. "Apparently you tripped and fell out a window." Elwin stated. "At least that's what Keefe told me." Something in his expression told me he hadn't believed him. "I was able to stitch up your leg and remove the glass, though you might need to use crutches for a few weeks." Elwin determined. I gave a small nod, though I wasn't looking forward to the idea of crutches. "Are you up for some visitors?" Elwin asked. "Uh..sure?" I responded. All of a sudden a group of people barged into the room.

Grady and Edaline were first. Grady grasped my hand tightly as Edaline cried sobs into my shoulder. It reminded me of my human mom, which felt...comforting.

Next was Keefe. "Keefe it's ok." I repeated, for the 100th time. "I'm so sorry!" He responded. "It's not your fault, I was the one who brought us to the window." Hoping he'd get the real meaning of my words. I saw guilt flash through his eyes, Grady had told me how guilt could shatter someone's mind. Before I could regret it, I gave him a peck on the cheek. He flushed red and I caught Grady glaring from behind me.

After that all my friends slowly came to greet me. "Are you ok?" "Fell out of a window!? That's a new level of clumsy." "Stay safe" "Call me if you need anything!"

Finally Fitz walked in, along with Tiergan and some old fat wrinkly guy. The others had given us privacy, except Keefe who stood in the corner. He attempted a reassuring smile. I pulled an eyelash out and turned my attention foward.

"Why are you here?" I questioned, narrowing my eyes at the two men behind Fitz. "We could ask you the same." Tiergan said, pulling a paper from his pocket. He laid the paper flat onto the table in front of me. I looked in horror to see me and Keefe at the door of the base. "How-." I started to say "I told them!" Keefe yelled, cutting me off. I swerved my head to Keefe. "You...told them!?"

"I had to! They already knew we were there and those guys asked me to pass on a message!!" I glanced away and closed my mouth before I said something I might regret. "Don't blame Mr. Sencen." Tiergan insisted. "We don't know how you got access to our base but we must assume you're part of them."

"Them?" I asked, turning my head. "The white eyes." He responded. I turned pale, "I'm not part of them." I whispered softly. "Your reaction says otherwise." Tiergan replied. Fitz was avoiding my eyes. Did he believe this!? Anger rose in my body. Red took over my vision. I took a deep breath, then another, then another, until my anger had receded. "I don't how you got that conclusion, but I didn't do that!!" I shouted. "We can't out any options until we figure this out." Tiergan responded.

"This isn't an option!" Tiergan ignored me. "We won't tell anyone that's close to you until we're 100% sure, but we will be watching you." The wrinkled guy eyed me warily. How could this happen!? They were focusing on the wrong thing! The two men started to walk out. Fitz threw a sympathetic glance in my direction. I glared at him in return. Keefe didn't bother saying goodbye which I was internally grateful for, who knew what I might have said. If these Black Swan idiots weren't going to focus on the real problem, then I'd do it myself!

There won't be a chapter on Friday.
