"My past is complicated and hard to explain. I did everything Black Diamond asked, punishing those she wanted to be punished. My loyalty was absolute; I thought that by making Black Diamond happy, I would find a place with her. Looking back, perhaps I was too good at my job.
After Pink Diamond's first outburst, tensions rose within their ranks. Black Diamond’s anger became more intense, boiling over until it was uncontrollable. Then came the day Pink Diamond was shattered—or so everyone believed. I discovered the truth, a revelation that changed everything."
Spinel sighed, feeling the weight of those memories.
Y/N looked bewildered, struggling to comprehend.
"If you truly want to know the whole story, you have to decree it. Black Diamond ordered me to keep her secret until she chose to reveal it. I am bound by that command, unable to share anything further until you agree to embrace her legacy. When that time comes, I promises to tell you everything. But you need to think carefully—it could change how you see me, your friend, Earth, and everything else you hold dear."
"What about Andesine?" Y/N asked, curious about another figure in this saga.
"Ah, that's a complex issue. They weren't originally part of Black Diamond's court; their loyalty developed more recently. Sent to Earth without much experience, they were thrown into a conflict-ridden world. I can't fully capture their feelings about this planet. They were a soldier, raised to serve Black Diamond, but their loyalty wasn’t simple. Black Diamond had a special fondness for them, complicating their role in this story.
I doesn’t have much information about Andesine, nor can I reveal more. What I do know is that they weren't entirely loyal to Black Diamond. If the Crystal Gems had approached them, I believe they would have considered joining. Given time and the right circumstances, I'm convinced it would have been a definite yes."
Spinel paused, letting the weight of her words sink in. The air between them was heavy with unspoken truths. Y/N appeared deep in thought, grappling with the implications of what Spinel had revealed.
"Do you think Andesine is aware of any of this?" Y/N wondered.
"I doubt it," Spinel replied. "They were brought into this chaos without much context. They likely see Black Diamond as a figure of authority, someone to be revered. But since I senses that their loyalty is fragile, If they were to discover the truth, they might have chosen a different path."
Y/N's expression softened. "It's hard to think about how much pain all this has caused. The lies, the manipulation—it’s all so much."
"It is," Spinel agreed. "But understanding this history is crucial. It’s part of who they are and how they navigate relationships moving forward. It’s a reminder that loyalty can sometimes blind us to the truth."
Y/N nodded, deep in thought. "So, what do we do now?"
"We proceed with caution," Spinel advised. "If you choose to accept this legacy, you must be prepared for the weight of its implications. Knowledge comes with responsibility. You can’t change the past, but you can shape the future."
The conversation left a lingering sense of unease but also a glimmer of hope. They both understood that the path ahead would be challenging, yet it was also an opportunity for growth and change.
"Thank you for sharing this with me," Y/N said finally. "It’s a lot to take in, but I appreciate your honesty."
Spinel smiled faintly, feeling a bond form between them in the shared understanding of their complicated pasts. "Together, we can face whatever comes next."
