The Diamond Mech’s colossal foot crashed down, sending a tremor throughout the battlefield. Its sheer size and weight seemed almost impossible to overcome, but something unexpected happened. The ground beneath it shuddered, and the enormous foot lifted off the ground. The source of the lift came from none other than Sunstone, a fusion of Steven and Garnet, who stood with a defiant grin and two lower hands making peace signs as they effortlessly tossed the foot away, momentarily unbalancing the Mech.

“Chillax, my dudes,” Sunstone declared confidently, dusting off their upper hands. “Your rockin' pal Sunstone is holdin' it down.”

The Crystal Gems, including Y/n, stared in awe at the dazzling fusion.

“You better believe it,” Sunstone bent down, grinning at Peridot. “You got this!”

Peridot blinked and nodded in agreement, “Okay!”

Connie, looking worried, spoke up, “Sunstone, what are we gonna do? White Diamond’s never going to listen, and she’s never going to let us leave.”

Sunstone’s eyes gleamed with determination, “If she won’t listen, we’ll make her listen.”

Amethyst raised an eyebrow, “And how are we gonna do that?”

Sunstone turned toward the looming Diamond Mech, pointing upwards, “I know she’s in there. We’ll bust into her head and change her mind!”

With everyone on board, Sunstone charged toward the Mech with a fierce roar. As they advanced, they broke the fourth wall, speaking directly to the audience, “But remember kids, if you ever have to deal with a bully, be sure to tell an adult.”

Y/n, exhausted and unable to continue fighting, collapsed to the ground, their strength drained. Lapis, Jasper, and Spinel rushed to their side.

“Y/n!” Lapis called, her voice laced with concern.

“Are you okay, my Y/n?” Spinel added.

“I can’t move… I’m exhausted,” Y/n admitted, lying still, struggling to gather their strength.

A sudden idea struck Y/n. They might not have energy left, but maybe they could take it from someone else. “Lapis, please go help Steven. Jasper, Spinel, stay here for a moment.”

Although slightly confused, Lapis nodded and flew off to join the others.

Turning to Jasper, Y/N spoke urgently, desperation laced in their voice. “Jasper, can I ask you something—not as your Diamond, but as the one who freed you from your fusion? Will you protect me and Spinel for a little while?”

Jasper straightened, her expression unreadable for a moment before she placed a fist over her chest. “Of course, my Diamond,” she said solemnly.

Y/N hesitated, glancing at Spinel before taking a deep breath. “Then… fuse with me.”

Spinel’s eyes widened in shock. Jasper, who had stood so resolute just moments ago, tensed, her fists tightening at her sides.

“My Y/N, if that is what you wish, then I will,” Spinel said, though her voice carried hesitation.

Y/N turned to her fully now, their expression wavering. “But... it’s not very Diamond-like,” they murmured, a sadness creeping into their voice.

Spinel softened, a small, knowing smile tugging at her lips. “My Y/N, your mother fused before—with Yellow, even—to fight off an entire fleet. If she could, why can’t you?” She placed a hand over Y/N’s. “I am but a humble servant to you, my Y/N. Your wish is my command.”
