The grand bathing chamber shimmered with soft, opalescent light. Marble floors reflected the radiant gemstone walls, creating an atmosphere that felt as timeless as the Diamonds themselves. Y/N stood at the entrance, watching Steven nervously shift beside them, his glowing pink skin making him look almost otherworldly.
“This will be the final test,” White Diamond said, her voice as crisp and commanding as ever. “If you are truly Pink Diamond, prove it. Show us she lives within you.”
Steven swallowed hard. “And how do I do that?”
“A game,” Y/N interjected, stepping forward.
The Diamonds turned their attention to Y/N, who stood tall, their expression calm but authoritative.
“A game?” Yellow Diamond asked, her tone skeptical.
“Yes,” Y/N replied. “Shape and Spirit. It’s a game that Mo—We used to play together.” Y/N had almost let out that they weren’t truly Black Diamond but rather something like Steven. A hybrid.
Blue Diamond’s gaze softened, her voice tinged with nostalgia. “I remember that. We would create shapes in the water, and we’d have to guess what they represented.”
“Exactly,” Y/N said, nodding. “Pink believed that shapes reflected the spirit of the one creating them. It wasn’t just about guessing—it was about understanding. If Steven is truly Pink, he’ll be able to remind you of her through this game.”
Steven looked at Y/N, his nerves evident. “You really think this will work?”
Y/N’s voice was steady. “It will. Trust yourself, Steven. Trust her light within you.”
The Diamonds stepped gracefully into the shimmering pool, their reflections rippling in the water. Steven hesitated before stepping in, his feet sinking into the warm, glowing surface.
White Diamond went first, her elegant hands guiding the water into a towering, angular spire.
“A spire,” Yellow said instantly, her voice confident.
White inclined her head slightly, her lips barely curving into a smile. “Correct.”
Yellow took her turn, her hands moving with precise force as the water twisted into a sharp-edged, imposing shape.
“A warship,” Blue said softly, her tone laced with a hint of sorrow.
Yellow nodded, dispersing the shape without a word.
Blue followed, her movements delicate and fluid as she shaped the water into a soft, flowing form.
“A teardrop,” Steven murmured, almost instinctively.
Blue’s eyes glistened as she smiled faintly. “Yes, Pink.”
Steven froze at her words, his heart pounding. *They see me as her.*
Now it was his turn. Taking a deep breath, Steven raised his hands, channeling the energy from his gem. The water began to rise, forming a small, radiant star—the symbol Pink often left behind.
The room fell silent.
“A star!” Blue was quick to answer.
Steven looked up, his pink glow shimmering in the water. “Did I get it right?”
Y/N stepped closer, their voice firm yet encouraging. “You didn’t just get it right, Steven. Pink always did a star as her first shape.”
For a moment, the chamber was quiet, each Diamond reflecting on what they’d seen. Then Yellow chuckled, her stern façade cracking. “It’s really her.”
