Chapter 14: Processing Emotions
Francesca's P.O.V.
Turmoil churned within me as I wrestled with my thoughts about Xander. Should I be with him? The pros and cons swirled in my mind, battling for dominance. On one hand, he was protective, caring, and undeniably attractive. On the other hand, his possessiveness and intensity left me unsettled.
The plane landed, jolting me from my thoughts. I checked my phone and saw 25 missed calls from Violet and the Vespers. As i think about calling later on, concern flooded me as we walked to the SUV, flanked by bodyguards. Xander took my hand, guiding me to his penthouse.
"You have the week off," he announced as we entered the luxurious space.
I frowned. "Why? I need to work."
He turned, his expression firm. "You need to rest and let me take care of you."
"I can take care of myself," I retorted, frustration bubbling up.
In a swift move, he spanked my ass, making me gasp. "Woman, you need to learn how to let me care for you," he said, his voice both commanding and gentle.
"What am I supposed to do here all week?" I demanded, rubbing the sting from my rear.
"Whatever you want," he replied. "Violet is on her way. I gave her the day off."
I stared at him, shocked. "You did what?"
He stepped closer, kissing me deeply before leaving. "Rest. I'll be back later."
When Violet arrived, her face was etched with worry. She enveloped me in a tight hug.
"No social media and no phone," she declared, making me laugh.
"I missed you and love you," I said, feeling a wave of relief.
Violet pulled back, her expression fierce. "I cussed out everyone trolling you on social media. I'll track them down and beat their asses if I have to."
Emotion welled up in me, and I hugged her again. "Thank you."
We spent the day bonding over episodes of Game of Thrones and discussing my trip. Violet's presence was comforting, a reminder of the normalcy I craved.
"Xander cares for you," Violet pointed out, her eyes glinting mischievously. "He's kind of intense."
I sighed, recounting what Xander had said to me. "He told me I was his and that no one could take me away from him."
Violet smirked. "That's kind of hot."
I rolled my eyes, but a smile tugged at my lips. "It's overwhelming, Vi. I need time to process it all."
Violet nodded, her expression softening. "Take your time, Frankie. Just remember, you're not alone in this."
As the day turned into evening, I felt a sense of peace wash over me. Despite the chaos and uncertainty, I had people who cared for me. Xander's intensity was daunting, but beneath it, there was a genuine desire to protect and cherish me. And with Violet by my side, I knew I could face whatever came next.
