Chapter 5

Frankie P.O.V.

FLASHBACK

When I was 12 years my mom died of lung failure and my step dad drowned himself in alcohol and he started taking drugs. It was the first time he raised his hand on me and it continued but became worse day by day.

He pushed me against the wall, slapped me and pushed me to the ground. I fell to the ground with a loud bang and my nose banged against the stand close by, blood streamed out of my nose and strings of pain ran through my cheek.

He kicked me in the stomach and grabbed me by the hair, letting me face him he took a knife from the drawer and began his crazy game of torture. Slicing my hand I screamed loud but he laughed at me shouting "beg bitch,beg beg".

PRESENT
I woke up to violet shouting my name over and over again. "Frankie wake up" she said.

Hugging her, she comforted me "it's okay,don't worry,am here nothing will happen to you" she said repeatedly and I just cried in her arms whispering "don't let him get me" over and over again.

After few minutes, I was calm and we were talking about random stuff but deep down I know something triggered my nightmare to start again, it makes me remember when I met violet.

FLASHBACK

I was running down the streets as I could my legs hurt like they were stabbed every second and believe me, I knew what that felt like. My lungs felt like they were on fire and couldn't get any oxygen in them. My breath came out fast and formed little mist in front of my face, I felt the air leave my lungs as my body fell and the floor.

My knees banged against the floor and my head felt with a loud thud onto the floor, my sight became blurry and my hands shot out to try find something to steady myself with. Then I saw a shadow of a girl, averagely my height and that shadow was close and closer. The only i heard was her name before I blacked out.

PRESENT

That how I met my best friend and sister from another mother ."you are going to be late for work babes " she said. "Okay mom, am going" i said smiling.
Getting to work I saw everyone outside and in the middle of the crowd I saw Danny. " hey, what going on why are they closing the place" I said. "Dear,I also don't know all I know is that the William have something to do with this and you know how he is" was his reply.

"But it's your place Danny,this is not right " I said. Feeling bad I said "don't worry I know what to do and how to save Vespr Coffee bar" was the only thing I said.

Entering the William Corp. building I looked around wowed by the design and structure of the building. Walking up to the receptionist "Good morning, may I see Mr William Xander" I said.

"Do you have an appointment" she asked, not waiting I walked out and started to find my way with her after me I quickened my pace and I saw a door with with the sign CEO.

Barging in, I saw him handsomely sitting and looking up he saw me and said " I have been waiting
for you" he said smirking. "Am sorry sir I couldn't stop her" the receptionist said, "it okay don't worry" he said.
I felt like removing that smirk off his face. "I knew you would come" he said. "Wow! You talk as if you know me" I replied. "You will do anything for the people and things you care about which includes,Mr and Mrs Vespr and of course the Vespr Cofeebar" he said. "I see someone did their homework,am impressed and also leave them out of this and tell me what you want" I stated.

"Calm down and don't go all ninja on me, well going to business I want you to work for me as my personal secretary and stop writing trash about me" he said. "Are you insane ? I can't stand you for a second not to talk about a whole day,every day."I shouted.

"Well,you have no choice you know what I can do and closing Vespr Coffeebar is the least of what I can do" he said. Deep down I know it was true afterall he is the devil. "Why would I want to do that? It's like entering the lions den or making a deal with the devil" I said. "But think about it,if you don't do as I said not only will I shutdown Vespr Coffeebar, you will not get a job anywhere and I will sue you for trashing my name.

Thinking about it, he was right i am so so screwed then I boldly looked at him without any emotion in my face "fine, I accept your stupid offer" I said. Looking up he smiled and said "resume tomorrow 8:30 am sharp I hate lateness" he said and continued his work signaling to me to get out. Entering the elevator I realized what I had done,I practically sold myself to the devil.

By the time I got there they were leaving, knowing Mr William, with only one call the job will be done. Danny welcomed me with an obviously worried face " Dear, if I may ask what going on between you and Mr Williams" he said . "Nothing Danny, at least nothing to worry about just some little changes" I said. " Like how?" He asked.
     Taking a deep breath, I said " From now on I will be working at Williams Corp. at least for now". "That great, congratulations dear I wish you all the best" Danny said. Bringing them both into a hug, I replied " Thank you so much Mr and Mrs Vespr" .
    "Why make moments like this so emotional come on, no need to thank us" Elena said happily.
