Chapter 15: Uncharted Territory

Xander's P.O.V.

I walked into the penthouse with Michael, my best friend, to find Francesca and Violet sound asleep on the couch. A smile tugged at my lips as I watched them, their faces peaceful and serene.

"Wow, she's beautiful," Michael murmured, his gaze fixed on Violet.

"Don't get any ideas," I warned him, my tone firm. "Violet is like a sister to Francesca. Treat her with respect."

"Got it," Michael replied, raising his hands in mock surrender.

I gently lifted Francesca into my arms, her weight feather-light against me. Michael followed suit, picking up Violet carefully. As I carried Francesca to my room, her eyes fluttered open.

"Where am I?" she asked, her voice groggy.

"In my room," I replied softly. "Michael put Violet in the guest room."

"Your best friend?" she asked, a hint of curiosity in her tone.

"Yes, the one and only. But don't worry, Violet is in safe hands."

Francesca seemed reassured, but as I laid her down on the bed, her expression shifted. "Back to where we left off," I whispered, leaning in to kiss her. I bit her neck gently while my hands wandered beneath her skirt. She moaned softly, inhaling my scent. Moments later, she fell asleep in my arms, her breathing steady and calm.

The next morning, a loud scream jolted us awake. Francesca, wearing only my shirt, bolted from the bed and ran to the guest room. I followed her closely, finding Violet and Michael in a heated confrontation.

"What's going on?" Francesca demanded, her eyes wide with concern.

Michael raised his hands defensively. "I fell asleep after bringing her here. Nothing happened, I swear."

Xander walked in, his gaze locking onto Francesca. "Go change," he said possessively.

"Excuse me?" Francesca sassed back, putting her hands on her hips.

Violet smirked. "You fucked up, Xander."

Ignoring Violet and Michael, I scooped Francesca into my arms. "You two need to figure it out yourselves," I called over my shoulder. "Michael, Violet is your responsibility."

As I carried a screaming Francesca back to our room, she struggled against me, but I held firm. Once inside, I set her down gently.

"Why are you doing this?" she demanded, her eyes flashing with anger.

"Because I care about you," I replied, my voice softening. "And I want to protect you."

Her expression softened, and she sighed. "I need time, Xander. This is all so overwhelming."

"I understand," I said, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "Take all the time you need. Just know that I'm here for you, no matter what."

She looked at me, her eyes searching mine for any hint of insincerity. Finding none, she leaned in and kissed me softly.

As the morning light streamed through the windows, I knew that our journey together was just beginning. There would be challenges and misunderstandings, but with Francesca by my side, I felt ready to face anything.

In the guest room, Violet and Michael continued their conversation, gradually finding common ground. By the time Francesca and I rejoined them, the tension had eased, replaced by a tentative understanding.

"Let's start over," Violet said, extending her hand to Michael. "I'm Violet."

"Michael," he replied, shaking her hand with a smile.

As we all sat down to breakfast, the atmosphere was lighter, filled with the promise of new beginnings and the uncharted territory that lay ahead.
