The rest of the night in the house, Louis was trying to make Liam come out of his shell by doing things to try and remind him of the good times they've shared working together. He would knock on Liam's door and ask him if he wanted to light a fire outside and just chat, or if he wanted to watch a film on the pull down screen in the main entertainment room. Louis seemed very eager to get Liam out of his room just like when they first started to work together.

All the reminders Louis was trying to pull up actually made Liam feel worse. He didn't want to remember the late nights where they sat around a fire while drinking beers. talking for hours until the sun came back up. They would notice as it came lighter and were surprised they were able to talk for so long. Liam wouldn't admit this to anyone but he sort of missed that.

The entire house was just different rooms and places where memories existed and they weren't always the most professional. There used to be a friendship that existed between them. It was true that they used to have this connection, a spark that always let them bring out the best in each other when it came to working in the studio. They used to be brilliant.

What finally made Liam leave his room, which he spent time doing absolutely nothing in, was when Louis suggested that they try and plan out what they should do when Perrie does arrive to the house. They both preferred having a set plan to stick to but the writing process was allowed to be free and creative, never forcing an artist to have something ready when they truly aren't.

When Liam walked downstairs he searched around a few rooms in the house to see where Louis even was. The other man had given up knocking on Liam's door, which Liam was thankful for, and sent him a text message on his phone instead.

"Payno, over here!" Louis called out once Liam walked past the kitchen, his voice sounding like he was calling out to a good friend of his. The nickname still didn't settle right with Liam when he heard it these days.

He went into the kitchen to see that Louis picked out two decent sized wine glasses and a bottle of white wine. Louis was currently trying to take the cork out from it's neck. Liam couldn't help but stop where he was as he watched Louis, suddenly thinking back on all the times they've held conversations while sharing one of two bottles of wine between each other. They would also have drinks whenever they felt like celebrating an accomplishment. Having the wine made them both feel comfortable and relaxed. Life felt so good back in those days.

"Come on, you little fucker." Louis grumbled as he twisted the corkscrew into the cork, now trying to pull it out with all his strength.

Liam let out a sigh, watching Louis' strong arms have trouble with the bottle. He then shook his head and walked over to where Louis was twisting the glass bottle along the marble countertop of the large kitchen island.

"Here, move." Liam told him, not even touching him so that Louis would budge his body over. Then Liam took the bottle from Louis and pulled the cork out with a loud popping noise.

"What would I ever do without you?" Louis grinned at Liam while he patted his hand on his back, causing the broader man to slightly tense up and clear his throat to move away from Louis and his touch.

"Be less drunk." Liam replied while taking the cork off of the screw, placing it onto the counter and then putting the corkscrew away.

He let out a sigh and closed his eyes for a moment, thinking about how hard it was going to be for him to be alone with Louis. All Liam had to do was think about the fact they were here for Perrie and her music career. That might just help him calm down whenever he gets too tense around Louis. It would also help if Louis didn't do things to provoke some sort of reaction out of him. Maybe he was doing all of it on purpose.
