Sonic was able to make it back home again in one piece and just in time before Tom and Maddie had reached back from work. He was both anxious and excited about telling the news to both of them. He wouldn't tell either of them about the baseball game, instead he just told them that he was out playing in their yard.

"Hey Sonic, how was your afternoon?" Tom had asked.

"Well it was good. I know I couldn't go out and watch the game so I just decided to have my own fun and pretended like I was playing baseball in our yard instead. I got a few wins too!"

"Aww I'm happy to hear you still had fun" Maddie cheered him on.

"Listen, I actually have some exciting news for you guys," Sonic told them, "So while I was hanging out in our yard, this girl was riding on her bike around the neighborhood and she ended up falling off of it by accident, but don't worry, I was actually there to help her out. I know you all want me to keep a low profile but I couldn't just leave her out there in the open."

He continued on with his story, "And not only that, but the two of us got to know each other a little bit and she seemed like a really nice person. I was hoping that we would be able to see each other again and so I kind of invited her to come over to our house this weekend. I'm sure you guys wouldn't mind right?"

Tom and Maddie both looked at each other after his final statement. They weren't too sure what to say about that. Tom then stepped in to say something.

"Hey Sonic, we're happy that you got to make a new friend but I think you're forgetting that Maddie and I will be out at Hawaii this weekend, remember?"

Sonic realized he had forgotten all about that.

"Oh right, I forgot Rachel's wedding is this weekend. So am I just supposed to cancel my plans with her this Saturday?"

Maddie then offered a suggestion to him, "Well if she's coming on Saturday then maybe we might have some time to meet her before we head off. What do you think Tom?"

He then thought about it and decided to agree with her.

"Well alright. I suppose we can."

Sonic was happy to hear that they were on board with the idea.

"YES! Thank you guys so much! I'm sure you guys will like her too."

"Ok, but just remember you gotta take responsibility for the house while we are away for the whole weekend right," Tom had said to him, "And no wild parties ok, just a small get together should be fine."

"Oh definitely, I've been training myself to be more responsible and cleaning up after my messes so I got you guys covered don't worry" the hedgehog replied back with a wink.

Leah had made it back home in one piece. Her dad, Philip, was doing work on his computer. She was excited to tell him about her new encounter but wasn't prepared to give him all the details of what had happened.

"Hey dad, sorry I'm late."

"Hey sweetie, happy you're back. I hope you had a good time with your friend today."

"Yeah I did. Well, I met someone new today actually. After I left the park, I was riding my way back down and my bike accidentally got stuck, and I ended up falling, but don't worry I'm fine, and he was there to help me back up. He seemed really nice and friendly and he even asked if we could hang out again sometime."

"Oh really, what's his name?"

"His name is Sonic" she replied without any second thoughts.

"Sonic? That's an odd name for a kid" Philip answered back confusingly.

She quickly came up with something else.

"Oh that's actually a nickname he goes by. His real name is actually...Steven! Steven Wachowski."

"Wachowski huh? I think I might have heard of that name before" he responded back.

"So is it ok if I can hang out with him this Saturday?"

He thought about it for a moment.

"Well I don't see why not. Sure. Just as long as you're not out too late hun."

She was now ecstatic that her dad had accepted her to hang out with her friend.

As she walked into her room, she put down her bag and then took one look at her necklace. She still didn't know what the heck had happened back there right before she met Sonic. Was this some type of sign that more strange things were about to happen? She had known from her mother that it was a lucky charm of some sorts but had no idea that it held any type of powers within it. Nevertheless, she would remain cautious around it.

At school the next day, both Leah and Erica were hanging outside on the bleachers during break from classes. Leah was a little nervous to tell her about her new friend but she decided to let her friend in on her secret.

"Hey, the weirdest thing happened to me yesterday after we shortly left the park."

"Oh really what happened?" She responded back.

"Well, I was just riding along on my bike until I suddenly just tripped and fell to the ground, and before I even got myself up, this guy came over to help me up and then the two of us just had our own regular conversation before we parted ways again. He seemed surprisingly nice and well I had asked him if he comes around here often."

Erica was really intrigued by her conversation.

"And not only that but he also invited me over to his place to hang out for a little while."

"Oh my gosh, I'm so happy for you! You gotta tell me more about this guy. Like where is he from? What does he do? What is he into?"

Leah thought up something quick to tell for her friend.

"Well he's actually not from here. He's from a different country, but he's only visiting to meet some family that he has over him. He really seems to like reading comics from what he told me."

"Aww that's great to hear. And was he attractive in any way?"

Leah choked a bit on her snack after hearing that last question.

"What? No way! I mean, ok he's cute but not in that way."

"Aw come on girl, I can see you blushing. There must be something going on between you too."

She continued to shake her head in denial.

"We're just friends. Trust me on that."

"Well perhaps maybe he likes you?" Erica thought, "I mean, he did help you out and offered to invite you over to his place, so you know you gotta make a move then right?"

Leah did wonder whether Sonic had actually liked her or not. The little guy didn't seem like he had many friends other than his two guardians he had mentioned about, so she figured he was just happy to make another friend on this planet.
