Waking up Wednesday felt so different. Reminiscing on last night's session, I couldn't get him out of my mind. I was so distracted, that I hadn't realized that it was 8:45, and I was due to work in 15 min.
Luckily I showered last night. So, I threw on a casual look with jeans and a nice blouse, threw my hair in a ponytail, and grabbed my purse and keys as I darted out the door.
Upon arrival, I tried to sneak past my boss, but it was useless. He was like a hawk the way he watched the door. Mia giggled as she knew the potential reason for my tardiness.
"Well, looks like someone had a good night,"she laughed through nose.
"Shut up! I can't believe I pulled a you. I'm never late." I said slightly ashamed.
"Well, it must have been a good session," she said as she perched on my desk, coffee in hand.
She too was late, and nodded to my usual beverage on my desk.
"RAE!" I heard my boss shout.
I looked up at Mia, with a puzzled expression wondering if she knew why he was looking for me. I mean, outside the fact that I was 20 minutes late today. She shrugged her shoulders, and headed back to her desk to get started on our schedule for the day.
Walking into his office, "Yes Mr. Kim. Did you need something?" I asked with my hands folded in front of me.
Kim Namjoon, he was our founders and an ex artist himself. He built Perfect Match when he decided to retire from performing. He loved being in the limelight, but he came to realize, that he had a passion for building up others who had his same dream. He built the agency with his little brother Kim Taehyung who is also an ex-artist.
Namjoon, mostly handles the musical side of the agency while Taehyung handles the modeling and acting side. They honestly are the perfect match, and their talents in their respective duties are unrivaled.
Namjoon, was truly a great boss, but he did require excellence. That didn't mean you couldn't make mistakes or get anything wrong, but he did expect you to learn from those mistakes and continue to make yourself better.
He was a friend, like Mia, before my transition, or at least that's what Mia tells me. I don't remember him at all. We weren't as close, but she said that he did always look out for me.
He's always been kind and understanding of my situation; constantly giving me opportunities that he knows others wont, simply because of what I am.
"Yes, actually I do," he began, "we have a client who's looking for a male singer. This new potential client happens to be a good friend of mine, so this would be like a favor for him."
I hated doing these kinds of projects, I always felt an immense amount of pressure. I knew he only gave them to me because I always delivered, but I still hated doing them. It was like being thrown in the arena with a raging bull until the project was completed.
"Okay, is there anything in particular that I should know about their request sir?" I asked starting a mental check list.
"Hmm, he's hoping to take new artist to the top. They should be handsome, nationality isn't a concern, they should be a kind person, but also be able to flip the script and exude sexiness. Athletic would be a plus, and of course most importantly can sing."
"Well, just ask for holy grail why don't you." I snarked.
"I know, I know. It's a lot to ask. I told him that we would at least try, but I didn't make a promise. His company is doing ok, but he needs an artist that's going to take him over the top." He explained.
