It's been three days since we've reconciled, and everything is seemingly back to normal. Thank goodness for that too, because work is finally starting to ramp up for JK. Namjoon has been working tirelessly to get him producers, practice space, and gigs to get him set up for his big debut.
It's cute watching him go through the ringer with Joon. Namjoon is brilliant, but he does demand a certain level of perfection. I just don't think that Joon was ready for JK. JK is even worse than he is, when it comes to his craft. He'll do a take a hundred times before he's finally happy with the way he sounds. And practicing is like a full-time job. He's had to replace dancers who couldn't keep up with the rigorous schedule.
He's a sweetheart about it all of course, but he just always wants to do his very best. I love that about him, honestly. I love watching him come into his own when it comes to the job. It's like he's been here for years; not like he's just walking through the door.
Today was like any other, full of meetings, e-mails, and talent scouting. I was honestly exhausted when I felt my phone buzz in my pocket. Pulling it out, I couldn't help the smile that crossed my lips as I saw his face.
JK: Hey baby, how's work been today?
I looked around to see him on the other side of the room. While a few people have caught wind that we might be an item, we keep our relationship under wraps at work. It's better for his image right now if his new fans think he's single. It's also better for our work life if people aren't being nosey all the time.
Me: Busy, but only two hours to go. How about you?
The smile on his face as he felt his phone buzz could have lit up the room.
JK: It's okay, rehearsals were really tiring, and I'm about to go and meet with Joon. He said that there's something big he needs to discuss with me. Do you know what it's about?
My brows pinched together, which I knew he had to see. I didn't know anything about a meeting with Joon today.
Me: No, but I'm sure that it'll be fine. He never really brings bad news.
I wish I had kept my mouth shut when I heard JK get loud with Joon behind closed doors. JK never raises his voice, and to Joon none the less. "JK, hear me out," I could hear Joon say. "No, I won't. I won't do that to her, and you know that I won't."
Storming out of Namjoon's office, JK was fuming. The lightest shade of red flushed his face, and I could tell he was holding back. What the hell happened in there? I wanted to ask so bad, it wasn't my place, at least not with all the prying eyes around. I couldn't hide my genuine concern, so I texted him to meet me on the roof top in 10 minutes.
Walking up the stairs, I made sure that I wasn't followed as I entered the rooftop employee area. It was late in the day, and everyone has taken their lunch and typical smoke breaks by now, so it should be safe for us to talk freely.
"Baby, what's wrong," I asked rubbing the small of his back as I approached him. He felt tense under my fingers, I hated that I didn't know what was going on. I wish that I was listening in sooner, but I didn't hear all of their conversation.
"Your boss has lost his damn mind, that's what's going on." He said leaning agains the railing that outlined the roof. He's never referred to Joon like that, with such disrespect, so I knew that something really bad had to be wrong.
"Well, tell me what's going on. I can't fix what I don't know is broken." Walking around to stand between him and the railing, I wrapped my arms around his waist, gazing up at him. Booping my nose, he smiled as I scrunched my face pretending to hate the interaction. "Seriously, JK, what's going on?" I asked again tenderly; in hopes he'll actually open up right now.
