Lucy's POV:

I'm keeping a close eye on Laura. I know her games. I'm not stupid. She thinks she can be all nice around others but I can see through her.

Then the doctor walks in. I immediately stand up.

"What's the matter with her Doc?" I ask.

"Well, obviously she hasn't woken up yet, and her vitals do seem to be improving. She isn't in a coma, however we will have to medically induce her into one if she doesn't wake up as it will cause strain on her brain. She also has dramatically low liver levels. This also shows she was massively dehydrated, explaining why she is in this state. We are constantly monitoring her and giving her fluids, to re gain her hydration. Any questions?"

I am quite shocked. I didn't realise it was this deep. All this time she needed help and we didn't know.

But why didn't she ask for it?

"I-is there anything we can do?" I shakily ask.

"Not at the moment. The best you can do is wait. Later this evening, we will be medically testing to see if this is caused by trauma or if it's just a sign of her system protecting her body. I know it's hard, but stay with her and let me know if anything changes."

"Thank you." I say almost on the verge of tears.

Oh Keira. What have you done?

I don't care what that bitch says. I'm staying with Keira and I'm making sure I stay with her.

*later that evening.*

"Are you going to take her now?" I question the doctor.

"No, unfortunately not. Some of her vitals aren't doing as good as we hoped so we can put the stress on her body for this test?"

"So she's getting worse?" Leah asks.

"Technically yes, but it's not serious yet. We are increasing her meds so a hopefully she begins to go up from here. The best you can do is stay positive. We will come back in a few days to do the test again, obviously checking up on her in between but not completing the test, if that makes sense."

"Yes, thank you so much." I smile.

"I can't do this. I'm getting some air." Laura says walking out of the room.

Don't worry Kei. I'm not leaving your side.

———

As the days go on, people come and go. G and Leah go back to training and come back when they can. It's okay for me to stay due to my arm. Laura is constantly in and out. I'm the only one who's stayed really.

That's until Keira's mum arrives.

"Oh Lucy. What happened to her?" She says hugging me.

"I'm so sorry Tracy. I tried to stop it from happening but she wouldn't let me in." I reply.

"It's okay dear. I'm sure you did everything you could." She says whilst smiling.

"I did. I really did."

She sits beside Keira and I sit on the other. I stroke her hand and Tracy strokes her head.

"Why don't you go get us some coffee, I'll stay with her." Tracy asks.

"I can't leave her." I reply.

"It's okay, it's just coffee. She won't go anywhere I promise. I will stay with her the whole time."

I finally get up after what seems like ages. Keira never told her mum I cheated, she just said we had to split through various reasons. And I respect her for it.
