I slowly placed Saanj's hand on the bed and kissed her forehead before walking out of the room. I went to Dr. Abascal's cabin and sat opposite him."How is she?" I asked.
He nodded lightly and said, "She is stable now, but still unconscious. We expect her to gain her consciousness at any time."
I got a smile on my face. "That's good news, doctor."
Dr. Abascal sighed and said,"It is. But, Sabil, you will have to take good care of her. She is someone who has never seen this kind of life before. She has never been shot or experienced any such kind of physical pain before. She could be traumatised. She may take a lot of time to recover mentally. You are the only one who can bring her out of this trauma."
"I am not sure about that. I am the reason she is in this situation today. I am not too sure if she can ever forgive me or would want to see my face again. But I will do whatever it takes to make sure that she recovers quickly."
Dr. Abascal smiled softly and said, "Well, I know you will take good care of her. She seems like a strong person. It seemed like she wanted to get better. Her body responded immediately to the injections and blood transfusions. Even Julio's body took time to mend after the operation, but Saanj's body is already stable. I think she will recover quickly. It's just that she may seem disturbed as a result of what has happened. But as soon as she accepts reality, she will begin to heal."
I simply nodded. My Saanj really was strong, and I was so proud of her. I promised myself to look after her and help her recover. I will never leave her side, at least not until Luis is dead. After that, I will set her free.
"Saanj needs to accept that whatever happened was in the past only to recover from the trauma. You don't have to believe that. You know what you have to do, right?" Dr. Abascal asked.
"Of course. I have lost too much because of that man. I will never let it go. He's pushed himself to his limitations, and now it's my turn to demonstrate my abilities. I won't rest until I have killed Luis and his pussy gang."
"Very good. Mr. Perez is on his way. I am going to help you too. Let's kill the monster." Dr. Abascal showed his hand. I shook his hand, and we both nodded in accord. Killing Luis is my life's only motto.
I walked out of Dr. Abascal's room and found that Daniel was awake.
He rose from his chair the moment he saw me. "How is she, Senor?" He asked.
I rested my hand on his shoulder and said, "She is doing better, but she is still unconscious. I will be here with her. Y'all should go home and rest. Mario will send dinner."
Daniel shook his head in disagreement. "I am not leaving you alone."
"I am not alone. Mr. Perez is coming, and Emilio will be here too. Take Guzman with you. Let Julio and Emilio stay here. We need to protect the house too."
"Emilio is going to feel weak for some time. Let him go home and rest, and I will stay back."
"Emilio is really strong, and you know that. Besides, I don't think he will agree to leave. He won't leave Saanj's side, nor will Julio. I know you all adore Saanj, but please don't swarm her. Luis will be making another move very soon, and we have to come up with some plans. Go home and rest. Send some fresh clothes for us with Sebastian later. Saanj's luggage was left at the airport. We will go shopping for some clothing for her tomorrow. She will be in hospital clothes for a couple of days anyway." I said.
Daniel nodded. "Okay, senor, as you say. I will ask Mario to send some food here as well. Y'all need to eat too."
I smiled and nodded. Daniel and Gusman left. Dr. Abascal sent for some juice to treat my giddiness. My head wasn't spinning anymore; but I still had the juice, and it felt much better. Julio had the juice too, and then walked inside the operation room to check on Saanj. Emilio had woken up. He came and sat with us on the couch. Mr. Perez came in after an hour.
