It was twelve o'clock at night. My phone's notification went off.
'Where are you?'
'Are you coming over?'
'Are you planning to cancel on me?'
'Busy with your best friend and a new friend, huh?'
'Seriously, Saanj, I can come to the tenth floor and throw you over my shoulders to bring you back to my room if you don't reply. Don't test my patience.'
I laughed as I read his messages.
"It looks like someone is waiting for you." Arman said and rose from the coffee table.
"I promised him a date." I said, still scrolling through his messages. I was re-reading all the texts and blushing like a teenager.
"I'll give you some privacy then. Only if you promise to be safe and not leave the hotel." Arman said.
I rose from the bed to give him a hug. "I won't disappoint you." I said.
Arman pulled my cheek and left. I didn't reply to Sabil's text because I wanted to leave him wondering. I got dressed in a black short dress, wore danglers, and wore dark maroon lipstick. I got my key card that I'd forgotten before and shut the door. I guess Arman was able to manipulate the receptionist to give another key card to my room because I could see two of them over there.
I climbed down the stairs and reached the ninth floor. I knocked at Sabil's door. He opened with a grumpy face."Reply at least. It's dangerous for me to answer the door when I don't know who's outside." He said this while leaving the door open for me.
I smiled and walked inside, shutting the door behind me.
"Sorry. I was stuck." I said with a shy smile. I walked up to him and hugged him. I knew he and I weren't possible. I knew I'd end up back where I started four years ago. But I was ready to deal with my broken heart just so I could be in Sabil's arms again.
Sabil held me closer to his body. His grip was so tight around me that I had to exhale loudly to breathe. He'd become brawnier over time. Sabil refused to let me go, even when he noticed I was struggling to breathe. In fact, he tightened his grip on me even more, inhaling my hair and causing goose bumps all over my body. I held him tighter by his waist too. Relishing the moment. Just after two days, these days are going to feel like a dream too. Sabil is going to vanish like he vanished four years ago.
I had to reach the shooting location in the Gothic Quarter tomorrow by two in the afternoon. I had to go back to Barcelona. But I did not care. I feared going to Barcelona because of Sabil, but he was right here in my arms.
After several minutes, we broke our hug.
"You look gorgeous". Sabil said, looking at my dress, and then back at me with an enchanting smile.
I blushed. "Thank you."
"You seriously look phenomenal in this dress. You have no idea what you're doing to my heart." He pulled me closer.
"Well, it was very much my intention to make your heart race tonight, sir." I said seductively in his ears.
"Damn, gurl." He whispered and kissed me. After several minutes of kissing, and caressing each other, he popped a bottle of wine open and handed me a glass.
We sipped our wine while looking into each other's eyes. I had a soft smile on my lips, while Sabil's lips were serene. After gawking at each other for quite some time, I decided to break the silence.
"My shoot is at the Gothic Quarter tomorrow." I said, without breaking our eye contact.
"I can take you." Sabil said, without taking his eyes off mine. We were so indulged in staring at each other that breaking eye contact felt like cheating.
