I arrived at school early in the morning. I felt really good. After my weekend events I was just really happy to be alive. I was excited to see my new friend Rebekah, and just start over my junior year.

I took my time on my appearance that morning. I put my long hair into a messy side braid. I wore a long black skirt, a white tanktop, and a brown leather jacket. I sported my favorite charm bracelet. I had even put on a little makeup. Caroline had even commented on how great I looked that morning.

I dress up one day and she's trying to sign me up for Miss Mystic Falls..

My first three classes were uneventful. Just the usual note taking, and discussing upcoming test. Mr. Saltzman was noticeably absent today. Every time he had a substitute the class became dreadful. By the time lunch rolled around, I was content but bored.

I sat down by myself at a round table. April had tried to wave me over, but I didn't feel like sitting with the rest of the group. I decided to scroll my phone while eating slowly. I felt someone sit down next to me and I looked up to see Rebekah.

"Guess what?! I was able to convince the dance committee to get rid of that hideous seventies theme and switch to the roaring twenties. Finally, I'll be able to wear one of my vintage outfits".

I loved her excitement. I gave her a friendly smile and nod.

"Are you willing to help with decorating the dance? Your sister was so mad she stormed off and left. Matt already said he'd help..".

"Yeah no problem, I have time to kill after school".

She looked delighted. "Wonderful. Can I get you to come to my house and look through my dresses with me? I'd rather have a girls opinion".

"Um.. You want me to come over"?

"Well of course. Aren't we friends or what not? Oh if you're worried about my brother, the little lunatic has been out sense Saturday night".

He has been gone sense he dropped me off.

"You shouldn't worry anyways dear", she continued, "He gave me his word he wouldn't kill you. His word, like my brother Elijah's, is at least honorable. It's him finding loopholes I worry about".

I smiled. It did make me feel better to know I wasn't exactly on a vampire hit list.

"Eer, what about your other brothers Bex? You sure they want a human invading their territory".

Rebekah sighed. "Well Elijah has been gone for around a month. Nik is off hunting hybrids. As for Kol, I'm pretty sure he invaded your territory already". She had a smirk on her face while saying the last part.

I blushed at her comment.

"Oh c'mon now Alex, do not be embarrassed. We have been alive for hundreds of years. You aren't the first woman to fall for his charms".

I nodded at her, but felt a bit dejected. He probably had been with hundreds of women. After all, he was good looking and able to compell anyone his heart desires. I'm sure he has loads of women at all times.

I had to shake the thoughts out of my head. I was starting to get annoyed at the thought of being a play thing again. I hadn't even tuned in to what Rebekah was telling me.

"It's bloody ridiculous that I'm planning a whole dance and will probably have to compell myself a date..".

I heard that.

"Why don't you ask Matt? I'm kind of in the same boat. If I decide to go, I'll be solo".

"Matt and I are a bit complicated for that. Why would you have trouble? You know all of these people? And what do you mean IF you go"?
