I woke up the next morning a little later. Kol was next to me in bed reading. I knew vampires didn't have to sleep, but most did, Kol on the other hand was always to busy to sleep. If vampire ADHD exists, Kol has it.
I blinked a few times so my vision would clear and noticed he was reading a dirty old book. He noticed me staring and gave me a smile.
"Good morning love, you slept like the dead. It's almost eleven". His voice was always so warming to me.
I gave him a little nod, thankful that the I was off today. I could just spend the day with him, tucked away in our little apartment.

"What are you reading?", I asked curiously. The book looked to be centuries old, barely held together.

"My mother's grimoire. Swiped it from Nik". She spoke so casually you'd think it was normal to have a witch for a mother. He contined, "Damon Salvatore said something weird to me yesterday, and while I think he's a bloody nitwit, I wanted to see if my mother had any spells or wrote anything regarding it. She's a damn loon and it seemed like something she'd have a spell for".

I raised an eyebrow towards him. "What did Damon say?", I had caution in my voice. I wasn't honestly sure if I wanted to know what went on in his brain.

"He thinks our souls are bound together", he said casually.

This made me sit up in bed. My eyes widening, "He thinks we are like soulmates?".

Kol was still reading, not looking at my face. He let out a sigh.
"It's a bit more complicated than that love", he said softly, "it would mean that part of my soul was ripped from me and attached to you in the past".

"And what would cause that to happen"?

He sat the book down, and gave me a small smirk.
"Well, I would have had to tick off a very powerful witch. One who wanted to give me a vulnerability".

I gave a little laugh. "And how many witches have you killed sense becoming a vampire Kol"?

"Enough to tick more than one off", he said sheepishly, "but what can I say, it was a dark period when I lost my magic..".

I rolled my eyes, before leaning in and giving him a quick kiss on the cheek. "A thousand years is not a dark period babe".

He chuckled as I got out of bed and made my way to the bathroom. I quickly brushed my teeth while I was waiting for my shower water to turn hot. I peeled off my pajama top and tossed it into the hamper. Kol hated when I slept in anything, but I reminded him that the nudist lifestyle wasn't for me, and I found comfort in being dressed in my own home.
I stepped into the shower and felt relief as the hot water touched my skin. Something about washing away yesterday and getting lost in your thoughts made showering so fun for me.
I wasn't even in for five minutes before I felt the cold breeze of the shower door opening and someone stepping in with me.

"Kol?", I asked cautiously.

He laughed. "Of course darling, if anyone else is joining your showers we have a problem".

He pulled my body back into his, wrapping his arms around my waist, letting the water hit both of us.

"I'm convinced you'd just sew us together if you could", I joked.

He started kissing on my neck, nibbling up and down.

"Kol", I groaned, "I hate shower sex, you can wait".

He slid his hand down my front, gliding his hand over my bundle of nerves earning a sharp moan from me. I grabbed his hand and told him to stop.

"Fine", he grumbled, "but I tore apart twenty odd vampires yesterday. I could use a tension relief".
