"Your sister's looney tunes boyfriend has ruined every plan we've had to grow Jeremy's tattoo", Damon said in an annoyed tone. The group was having a meeting do discuss the cure. Everyone was quite broken apart. Stefan was working with Rebekah, Damon and Klaus were together. But the worst was, Elena, Jeremy, and the witches had secretly created a plan and hadn't included anyone else.
Caroline didn't care what the plan was exactly, but she knew she couldn't risk her sister getting hurt, so she was protesting with her friends about how to handle Kol. "Look I know he is a problem", Caroline protested, "But if you do ANYTHING to him, Alex will suffer. So I'm sorry but you're gonna have to find a way to be sneaky".
Jeremy rolled his eyes. "We should just kill him", he muttered. It caused the rest of the group to glance his direction. Luckily Klaus wasn't in attendence or he might have lost his head. Jeremy's mark hadn't grown much, and they were no where close to having the map for the cure. He was growing the more and more frustrated the longer his sister was a vampire.
"Absolutely not!", she spat at him. Maybe a month ago she would have agreed, but now that she knew the truth about their relationship, she couldn't risk it. Kol had given her one task, and that was to get her friends to back off. Caroline didn't particularly like that he leveraged her sister's peace for it, but she understood why.
"Care", Elena said softly, "We do not want to hurt Alex, but Kol is ruining everything. Even Klaus wants to dagger him". She was trying to reason with her friend, but Caroline stood her ground.
"If Kol is put down in any way, then Alex won't be okay. She is my only sister. I'm not gonna stand here and let you guys cause her damage".
"How about this Blondie", Damon suggested, "How about we let Klaus dagger his baby bro, and as soon as the cure is available, we let him go and he and your questionably insane sister can go be crazy somewhere else". He twirled his finger at his temple to make the cuckoo gesture.
Caroline wasn't satisfied. Her sister wasn't crazy. She couldn't help who was bound to her soul. Kol made her complete, and in her whole life this was the first time Caroline had seen her happy. She couldn't let her friends take that away, regardless if she didn't like Kol or not.
"Care, I think I can break the soul bind. I think I can remove his soul from your sister's". It was Bonnie who spoke up. This got Caroline's attention.
"Kol made it sound like that is impossible", Caroline stated plainly. She was skeptical. It wasn't that she doubted her best friend, but why would Bonnie only offer to break it now that she was protesting. She knew that while her friends liked Alex, they didn't care for her. Her life being ruined wouldn't effect them. Elena tried to care for her, but now that Elena was a vampire and sired to Damon, she had changed.
"Well of course he'd make it sound like it's impossible. He is using your sister to keep himself safe", Damon spat out. He was growing impatient with the whole conversation. He and Klaus were in agreement that Klaus would dagger Kol. Klaus could handle his own brother and he promised to keep him away from here. Without Kol, Alex could have a normal human life and she'd eventually move on. While he did believe in the soul bind, he didn't particularly care sense they were standing in between Elena having the cure. Alex's happiness was something he was willing to sacrifice.
