The rest of my evening was spent with Rebekah relaying the events that happened the day of the dance. She told me her mother was the original witch, and had stolen her body. She had called her brothers and demanded they go to the dance as a trap, then daggered herself in Rebekah's body so she could body jump. Luckily, her brothers arrived in time to stop the spell. This time killing their mother and older brother for real. Rebekah cried and while I'm not the best with tears, I figured I was the better than her brothers.

She told me Klaus was demanding they all leave, but her and Kol refused. He was angry at all of them and threatening to re-dagger them but they assured him it wouldn't end well. I spent hours listening to her cry and listening to her life story. I couldn't help but feel sorry for Rebekah in a lot of ways. She was a beautiful, powerful, a thousand plus year old vampire, but she still has the self esteem of a sixteen year old girl.

We were together until late into the night. She had offered to have the maid make the guest room but I told her I needed to get home. I knew Caroline would want her car back. I bid my goodbyes to her, and crawled into bed immediately once I got home. My heart was racing in anticipation for my afternoon with Kol.

When I woke up in the morning I was full of energy. Excitement. I dug into my closet to try and find something.

What do you even wear to hang out with someone like Kol?

I decided to go with a simple long dress. It was cream with a sweetheart neckline. I never wore cream because of my pale skin, but it made me feel feminine. I set out my favorite gold necklace and charm bracelet and then went to shower. I was in there twice as long as normal. Removing hair on every inch of my body, while also doing full body exfoliation. I shampooed and conditioned my hair multiple times. I was so anxious about the date, I kept repeating steps I'd already done.

When I finally got out of the shower I started working on my makeup. I tried to keep it a natural look. After all, I didn't even know what his type was. I spent forty-five minuets blow drying my long hair and brushing it out. Only then to re-curl it in an more organized fashion. I tried to achieve a classic look. I went back to my room and got dressed. I had a little time until Kol would be there so I went downstairs to spend time with my mom.

She was sitting in her favorite armchair reading. She looked up from her book, "well you like nice Lexy".

I gave her a smile. "I actually have a date today. My first one that isn't with Jeremy. I'm nervous".

"Well who is he", Liz, my mother, asked excitedly?

Well there is just no way I can be totally honest here..

"Um, he's new in town. His name is Kol".

Caroline came running in. "YOU HAVE A DATE WITH THAT PSYCHOTIC BLOOD DRAINING KEN DOLL"?!

I sighed. This is what I was avoiding. I put on a fake smile. "Yes Care, I have a date with an old vampire who is new in town".

"Lexy, maybe you should..", my mom started, but I cut her off with the wave of my hand.

I faced them both. "Honestly, I wasn't asking for any opinions. Caroline, you slept with Damon. DAMON. You also have a weird flirtationship with Klaus of all people. You have no right to judge me. And mom, your daughter is a vampire. There are vampires everywhere. Going on a couple dates with one isn't unheard of".

They both opened their mouths to argue, but were interrupted by the sound of the doorbell ringing.

Thank fucking god.

I ran over to the door and opened it to see Kol's handsome smile looking down at me. "Hello love, you look beautiful today".

"Thank God you're here. Lets go". I went to grab my jacket but Caroline stopped me. She went up to Kol and got face to face with him.
