Kol took me back to his home. He sat me down gently at the foot of his bed. I was thankful for vamp speed, because there was no way I could have gotten out of there faster. My white corset was stained with my blood, and my makeup was becoming a mess from the tears. I was trying to hold it back, after all, being called a whore was not the end of the world. It just hurt coming from someone I knew so well.
Kol paced back and fourth angrily across the bedroom. He had his hands together and was mumbling outloud. I couldn't exactly make out what he was saying, but I caught the phrases "doppleganger bitch" and "hunter's curse". "Kol", I said softly, but he didn't hear me. "KOL", I yelled louder. He stopped pacing and vamped over to me. He put his forehead against mine. His eyes were dark with anger. He took a deep breath and they returned to their dark brown color.
He sighed. "I should kill the whole bloody lot of them Alex".
"Elena is a new vampire", I protested, "she's not totally in control yet".
He stood back up, letting our a growl.
"I don't give a bloody hell if she was turned yesterday. She fed from you. NO ONE can feed from you except me. You are mine"!His. Yes.
I reached my hand out and grabbed his arm before he could start pacing again. I was longing for comfort from him. "Honestly Kol, I'd prefer you not do anything. These are people I grew up with. Elena was an accident and it won't happen again. If it does, then you can handle it okay? I'm honestly more upset about Jeremy calling me a demon's whore".
He tilted my neck to examine where she had bit into me and noticed it was already healing. He then ran his fingers along my jaw bone. His eyes were no longer dark with anger, but his breathing was heavier trying to calm himself. He knew I needed him to stay with me. "Jeremy", he started, "is a supernatural vampire hunter darling. He has a drive to kill vampires that will evidently make him go insane. His anger was directed at me through you, because he cannot kill me. You certainly aren't a whore of any sort".
Well I've never taken money for it..
"Are you going to kill Jer?", I asked while nervously biting my bottom lip. I wasn't even sure what answer I wanted to hear, I didn't necessarily want him dead but a supernatural vampire hunter sounded dangerous to everyone, not even just Kol.
He gave me an exasperated sigh. "I can't. If I do I'll be cursed for decades. I'd rather not spend the next fifty years trying to off myself". He clenched his jaw at the thought. "My brother Nik is protecting Jeremy anyways. He needs him to finish the hunter's mark". I raised an eyebrow. I had heard nothing about this. Kol continued, "At the end of the mark leads to a cure for immortality. He and Rebekah both want it. They've been at odds for weeks".
"Why would Klaus want a cure for it"?
Kol shrugged. "If I had to guess, I'd say it's to cure the doppleganger and make more hybrids. I've tried to stay out of the family dispute, because frankly I don't care. Although, I will be out for a couple days this week as a favor to Rebekah. I'm sure I'll know more then".
I nodded, but also found myself a little upset he would be leaving. He laughed a little bit at my pouting lip which made his eyes soften.
Stage five clinger there Alex..
I was becoming clingy, and that was not like me. I was never jealous or clingy before, but every day I felt it getting a little worse. The thought of him being away was starting to drive me a little mad. I reasoned with myself that he had a life and obligations, and that he also needed to eat, but I didn't like that either. Did he really need to feed off anyone besides me? Obviously I knew he did, but I didn't like the thought of it. Him touching anyone else. What if he blood shared with them? If it's so intimate like everyone says, is that cheating?
