Qibli found himself in the Night Kingdom throne room the moment he blinked. Now, without animus magic, this trip would have taken days. Animus makes things so much easier. He thought. He turned around to see three familiar faces. Moon, Winter, and Darkstalker.
"Ah, Qibli! Darkstalker bellowed. "Just in time. Your friend Winter over here doesn't want you to have animus magic anymore. Think about all the good deeds you could have done, only to have one of your closest friends disagree with you."
Qibli looked at Winter. "You don't want Pyrrhia to be peaceful?" He asked, every word feeling like a dagger stabbing him. Winter's eyes widened and said,
"What? No! I agree that animus magic is good if you can use it correctly. You toyed with other dragon's thoughts. That is unacceptable."
Darkstalker looked intrigued. "Qibli, you made other dragons think things they don't actually agree on?" Based on his look, Qibli could see Darkstalker was more proud and shocked rather than disappointed.
Qibli just ignored him and faced Moon. He took a deep breath and said, "Moon. I think we got off the wrong foot over here. I'm sorry. I know that toying with other dragon's thoughts is unacceptable, but I had a good reason for that. You see, I-" Moon cut him off.
"Qibli, I don't care what your reason is. Dragons aren't your personal toys. They are actual living beings. I don't know what has gotten into you."
"I can take it from here, thank you, Moon." Winter then said. Qibli felt mad at Winter. Is this how you treat a dragon you love? If so, dragons should be fixed. Qibli then shouted at him.
"YOU CAN'T CONTROL MOON. SHE CAN SAY WHAT SHE WANTS TO SAY. WHAT HAS GOTTEN INTO YOU?" He said, fixing the crown that slanted off his head.
"I AM PERFECTLY FINE, RIGHT, MOON?" Winter asked. He didn't wait for her answer. "TAKE YOUR GROSS ANIMUS SELF OUT OF THIS ROOM. NOW."
Qibli noticed Moon sink to the ground and cover her wings above his head.
"I'M THE GROSS ONE OVER HERE? WHAT KIND OF SELF-RESPECTING DRAGON SAYS STUFF LIKE THAT?" As the two of them continued to argue, Moon suddenly cried out,
"BOTH OF YOU, STOP IT."
Both dragons stopped. They both looked at Moon.
"Qibli, I don't care if you have animus magic or not, but you can't use it to toy with other dragon's thoughts." She said sharply. She then turned to Winter. "Winter, I am sick of you trying to control me. If you can't see that this isn't healthy, then I don't want to be in a relationship with you either." Either, Moon's words echoed in Qibli's head. That means she has completely given up on me. His wings dropped. Winter then spoke.
"Moon- I-" He tried reaching out to her.
Moon shot dagger stares at both of them, and ran out of the room. Nice going, Ice Jerk. Qibli thought to Winter nastily. Thanks a lot, Qibli. He heard Winter say in his head. Darkstalker interrupted the silence by clapping. "Well, that was certainly entertaining. Now, I'd suggest you two leave. I have urgent matters to discuss with my advisors. Off you go." He waved with his talon. As Qibli and Winter left the room, Qibli was so mad at Winter (partly because he stole Moon from him but he didn't want to admit that), that he couldn't resist the urge to say
"Hey Winter, shut yourself up until I say you can stop."
Winter's eyes widened. He tried protesting, but nothing could come out. Qibli smirked. Now is the time to shoot my shot at her.
