It had been two months since their time of bittersweet happiness, filled with moments of joy and togetherness, especially at the amusement park. Now, reality had set in, and duty called loudly. The Kaiju attacks continued relentlessly, leaving no room for rest or a moment to catch their breath. They were forced to focus on their responsibilities, their time together squeezed out by the relentless onslaught of danger.
Hoshina found himself tormented by memories of her gentle touch, her comforting voice, her radiant smile, and her tender affection. Yet, the safety of the country weighed heavily on his shoulders, and he felt trapped in a constant struggle. Deep down, his heart whispered that something was amiss with Suori, but he couldn't discern the nature of his worry. The conflict between duty and the unease in his heart only added to the burden he carried.
Time had passed, and almost three months had gone by without them seeing each other. The relentless Kaiju attacks had finally eased, granting them a moment of respite. The breathing room allowed a brief pause in the constant onslaught, but it also brought a sense of unease, as if the calm before a new storm.
Fate seemed to be at work, as Suori found herself occupied with something crucial, making it harder for them to meet. Meanwhile, Hoshina sat alone in their favorite cafe, surrounded by memories of their shared moments and laughter. Every corner of the cafe whispered of their past, a constant reminder of their connection.
He sat alone, the bitterness of his coffee mirroring the growing emptiness in his heart. His words broke through the silence, a quiet sigh carrying his whispered admission, "I miss you, Suori." The absence of her presence loomed over him, intensifying the taste of the coffee, but it wasn't the drink that made it so bitter.
He looked out of the window, watching the petals of spring dance through the air, gently caressing the road and the passersby. The soft touch of the flowers reminded him of Suori's gentle presence, and a pang of worry tugged at his heart.
"I have this nagging feeling about you, Suori," he muttered, his gaze fixed on the falling petals. "What are you planning...what are you up to?"
He turned towards the cafe door as the bell's pleasant chime echoed through the air. For a brief moment, his heart leaped with hope that it might be Suori, but his expectation was shattered as Kanroji and Satori entered. The sadness etched onto their faces immediately made him take notice, and a sense of dread began to build within him.
He couldn't help but notice the artificial nature of Satori's greeting, his smile not reaching his eyes. The sight immediately set him on edge, and he responded with a guarded, "Hey..."
"how was your day,Hoshina?"
Satori asked him, sitting down after pulling out the chair for Kanroji. What a gentleman
He let out a tired sigh, the weight of his worries evident on his face. "It's been a long day," he replied, his voice carrying a hint of weariness. "How about you both? Is everything alright?" He couldn't help but notice the polite gesture from Satori, pulling out the chair for Kanroji.
"missing your girlfriend?" Satori decided to lighten up the mood.
"Missing Suori? Yeah, you could say that," he admitted, a hint of vulnerability in his tone. The mention of her brought a brief flicker of sadness in his eyes, despite the attempt to keep the mood light. He took a sip of his coffee, the bitterness now mixing with the nostalgia of their shared moments in this cafe.
Satori and Kanroji exchanged a brief, apprehensive glance. It was as if they were silently considering whether to divulge something important to him. A wave of unease washed over Hoshina as he noticed their hesitation.
