The Silent Inquiry

After a week,Hoshina hasn't bump into Suori or any MDF members. Leaving himself confused and curious.

Where did they go? It's like they vanished into a thin air

Hoshina couldn't help but feel a twinge of disappointment at not having run into Suori or any members of the MDF team for a full week.

He found himself going to the cafe a few times, hoping he might cross paths with them, but each time his hopes were dashed. He couldn't help but wonder what might have happened that made them so elusive all of a sudden.

He tried to shake off the feeling of disappointment, reminding himself that they must be busy with MDF work. However, his curiosity got the better of him, and the unanswered question of their disappearance continued to niggle at the back of his mind

"Hoshina"

Ashiro entered his office. Looking serious.

"I've something to tell you"

Hoshina looked up from his desk as Ashiro entered the room, sensing the seriousness in her tone.

"Something to tell me?" he repeated, curiosity and concern in his eyes. He sat up straighter in his chair, ready to listen to whatever Ashiro had to say.

"about the MDF unit"

She confessed

Hoshina felt his heart skip a beat at the mention of the MDF unit. What could Ashiro possibly want to tell him about them?

"The MDF unit?" he echoed, intrigued. "What about it?"

"you notice it too right? No glimpse of them this week"

Hoshina nodded, confirming Ashiro's observation. "Yes, I've noticed their absences as well," he replied, a hint of worry in his tone. "I've tried looking for them, but it's like they've vanished into thin air."

"I've a strange feeling about the MDF unit... I can't explain it"

Hoshina raised an eyebrow, puzzled by Ashiro's statement. He had a slight suspicion of where this was going, and he didn't like it.

"What kind of strange feeling?" he asked, his tone serious.

"it's almost like.. there's something going on and we don't know about it"

"I've a feeling that..the MDF were hiding something"

Hoshina felt a cold shiver run down his spine at Ashiro's words. "Hiding something...?" he repeated, the words hanging heavily in the air between them.

Anxiety gnawed at his stomach as he mulled over Ashiro's theory. Hiding something...what could it be?

"What makes you think that?" he asked cautiously.

"I've been searching about the MDF unit members background and data..but I found nothing"

She opened her laptop, showing him the screen laptop shows nothing but "this file doesn't exists"

Hoshina felt a jolt of surprise as he looked at Ashiro's laptop, seeing the phrase "this file doesn't exist" repeated on the screen.

"What..?" he murmured, a mix of confusion and disbelief on his face. "There's nothing? What about their personal data and backgrounds?"

"that's what makes it more confusing. All of the defense force unit have their each members data and backgrounds.."

Ashiro stopped for a while

"Did the higher-ups even notice this..? Even if they do,of course they will do something"
