"What did Morgan tell you about the investigation?" she asked, knowing the two men had talked while she was showering.

"The police were searching Dan's house and vehicle today, and Garcia is looking into his background to see if she missed any additional properties he could've held the victims in" he said, glancing at his watch as he fastened it around his wrist.

It was 13:30, and Aaron assumed they must still be investigating. "Morgan and Dave are at the station interrogating him, and with Reid observing, they will be able to see if his behavior aligns with the profile."

Emily nodded. "That's good. Do you think we should go there?" she asked carefully, preferring to join her team rather than participate in another meeting with the neighbors, she was never good at waiting for updates and do nothing and she hated feeling out of the loop.

"I'm not sure if that's the best idea. I want to know more just like you, but it's better if we stay away from the actual interrogation, if possible. We also don't want anyone asking questions" he said. Emily couldn't conceal her dissatisfaction. "Yes, you're right" she said quietly, leaving to dry her hair in the bathroom.

"Emily" he called after her. The brunette turned around, looking at him without replying. "I miss them too" he stated, his heart filling with joy at the sight of her guilty smile. Emily was glad to hear that he understood the other reason for her desire to go to the station without her having to say it— she really wanted to see her friends, and the thought of hearing someone other than Aaron call her by her real name excited her. Emily longed for that reunion; to remember her real life.

"So how are you doing today, Dan?" Detective Anderson asked, entering the room. "It could have been a lot better if you guys hadn't arrested me in front of my daughter" Dan replied impatiently, watching the detective close the door after him.

"We didn't arrest you, Dan. You came in voluntarily for questioning" the detective answered with a smile. "As a lawyer, I'm sure you understand the difference" he said teasingly, remaining standing as Dan looked up at him, his eyes burning into the detective's.

"Alright, so are you going to tell me why I'm here?" Dan urged, crossing his arms and leaning in his metal chair. "Don't you want to have a lawyer present for this?" Anderson questioned, pulling his chair to sit in front of his suspect and resting his case file closed next to him.

"I don't need one. I know my rights, and I have nothing to hide" Dan replied dryly. The blonde detective scoffed, seemingly amused by the irony of the words Dan had chosen.

"Tell me about your relationship with Crystal and Nate" Anderson requested, extracting two photos of the victims. Dan rolled his eyes. "This again? I already told you everything I know" he complained. "They were just neighbors of mine" he claimed.
