ROMANS POV

I had Mel's what felt like small hand, compared to my big hand, that had collided with each other.

I noticed how she wasn't ever aware of her surroundings, relying on luck to save the day. Lucky I was here, I was her luck. I chuckled at my thought.

Melody's head snapped up, "what so funny?" She asked? Looking confused as her lips were slightly opened. "Nothing love" I laughed.

"Oh look!" The girl in the green onesie yelled as she pointed towards the big sigh that glowed in neon colors. The liquor store. "Okay, go on" I said, before she ran, her tail bouncing as went faster.

I was right behind her as I jogged towards the store. I could feel the stares that were a thousand percent unhuman. The red eyes glaring at Melody from behind ally ways.

They wouldn't know I'm a vampire, probably because I have a human scent covering me head to toe.

I walked into the store to see Melody looking around in the candy isle. I walked towards the big bottle of Tito's that sat on the top rack in the back of the store. Melody following behind me after grabbing her candy. "Can I have this?" She asked, pulling my shirt slightly. "Yes Mel, now grab a juice, make sure it's really sweet and tasty." I explained. "And chips?" She asked again. I nodded my head "yes" I sighed. She walked off into the chip isle as I walked towards the front counter ready to buy everything. "You have an id?" The male asked, I showed my id before he passed me out items in a bag. "Have a nice night" he winked toward Mel. I ignored his actions not wanting to make a scene.

We made our way back home before I made a small cup of alcohol for Melody to taste. "Come here" I said, motioning the girl that was watching tv on her phone and eating candy. "Hm?" She asked, as she stood up, walking towards me. "Taste" I said, pouring a small amount of alcohol in her mouth. Her face twisted with disgust, "ew, it's hand sanitizer?" She asked. Her comment making me burst into laughter. "No, it's alcohol"

"Why do people like it then?" She asked. "They mix stuff with the it most of the time, or just take shots to get it over-with." I explained. I continued when she didn't respond. "Hand me your juice" I said. She turned to grab the juice.

I poured a nice amount into her cup before adding a quarter of that amount of alcohol. "Taste it" I said again, she brought her lips to the tip of the cup before sipping, "it taste better" she said. "Want some more?" I asked, she nodded before taking the cup.

A couple minutes later.. it was gone. "Mel? Did you drink it all?" I asked. "Yes" she said, her big round eyes looking up at me. "Oh no" I sighed.

"What's wrong?" She asked. As she put down her phone and looking up at me. "Nothing love.. are you sleepy? Maybe you should sleep" I tried to explain to her. Before the drink actually kicked in.

Melody shook her head "no, I wanna watch a movie" she explained. "Not right now, you've drank a lot let's go to bed." I tried to explain once again. "No" she whispered, taking my hand and leading me back to our fort. "Melody, sleep" I said more sternly. She rolled her eyes before turning the other way, turning on the movie.

I sighed. This is gonna be a long, hard night.

I have kinda good news? I've been taking a while to upload because I'm coming out with a new book, I'm going to be uploading the aesthetics of the characters and stuff today, and should be uploading more chapters soon, because this book will soon be coming to an end
