“Ah, I shouldn’t have eaten that last pancake,” Felix whined.
Hyunjin chuckled and buckled his seatbelt, “I told you that four pancakes, plus the eggs, plus the bacon and sausage, plus the shake, along with the fruit and french toast was too much,”
Felix glared at the older, “Then why didn’t you stop me? You just sat there watching as I ate way too much,”
“Felix, I don’t know if you realise this, but you are stubborn. So, even if I told you maybe you shouldn’t eat all of that food you still would have, on top of that you were determined to beat JIsung in the bet you two made,” Hyunjin stated.
Hyunjin had a point Felix was quite stubborn.
“I take solace in the fact that I am not the only one feeling like this,” The blond said.
The older shook his head and began to pull out of the parking spot.
Felix huffed as his phone rang, “Yes?”
“Hey, am I on speakerphone?” Minho questioned.
“No,” Felix said.
“Good, what is going on with you and Hyunjin?”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, you two were like all over each other during breakfast and some of us are curious about what is happening there,” Minho said.
Felix rolled his eyes, “Nothing is going on and nothing will be going on any time soon with anyone,” he stated.
Hyunjin raised a brow and glanced over at Felix, curious to what conversation was going on.
“Not even a little thing?”
“No, nothing. Not for a very long time,”
Minho hummed, “Oh, well… okay… Chan wanted me to let you and Hyunjin know that we are going to stop at a hotel in SC. I'll send you the address,”
“Okay, see you when we get there or before that, whichever happens first,” Felix said.
“Jisung, are you going to throw up?” Minho questioned as he hung up.
“That didn’t sound good.” the blond said.
“Everything okay?” Hyunjin asked.
“Besides the fact that Jisung is probably throwing up right now, yeah. Minho just wanted to let me know that we are stopping at a hotel in SC, I guess as a way to let all the drivers rest,”
Hyunjin hummed, “I figured we’d just do it in one go,”
Felix shrugged and took Hyunjin’s phone off the stand to add the stop.
“I guess it is because not all of us drive. So there are limited drivers and while we can stop at rest areas it would still be difficult,” Felix said.
“Not everyone drives?”
“Nope, Jisung and I cannot drive… cars that is, at least for me. Jisung is a certified passenger princess as he says, at least for Minho,” Felix said, setting Hyunjin’s phone down.“Wait, you don’t drive?” Hyunjin questioned.
The younger shook his head, “I have never driven a car,”
“Then how do you have your licence to drive a motorcycle?”
“I didn’t need to know how to drive a car to ride my motorcycle,” Felix said with a shrug.
Hyunjin hummed, “How is your stomach feeling?”
Felix groaned at the reminder of how he felt, “Better than Jisung’s that is for sure,”
“Why don’t you try to sleep it off?” Hyunjin suggested.
“I would, but driving makes me a little antsy. Last time I went on a road trip with Yuqi, I couldn’t sleep because I got so nervous that something would happen.
In no way is Yuqi a bad driver. I trust her a lot, but something about driving and sleeping just doesn’t mix for me,” Felix explained.
See Hyunjin would have believed that if ten minutes later the younger wasn't asleep, but he was.
He figured it had something to do with the peacefulness of the drive. Besides the gps’ occasional talking there wasn't much going on.
It would take ten hours to get to the hotel. Hyunjin hoped that Felix wouldn't sleep the whole ten hours, because then he wouldn't sleep at night and then on the last leg of the trip to Jersey the blond would be tired and upset or asleep.
It was around the five hour mark that the group pulled into a rest stop.
Hyunjin got out of the car and stretched. Joints cracking like a glowstick from sitting for so long.
“Is Felix asleep?” Jisung questioned, sleep lacing his voice.
The brunet nodded, “He fell asleep like twenty minutes after we left Mina's,”
“That's a first,” Minho said, putting his arm around Jisung and pulling him close.
“Mm, can you guys stay here for a minute? I need to go take my contacts out and I don't want to leave him alone,” Hyunjin said, opening the backseat door and pulling out a bag.
“Sure. We'll work on waking him up so he can get out and stretch,” Minho said.
Jisung nodded with a yawn.
“I'll be back in like ten minutes,”
Hyunjin went into the building and to the restrooms.
“Hey, where is Felix?” Seungmin asked.
“Uh, Minho and Jisung are waking him up while I take out my contacts,” Hyunjin told him, setting his bag down.
Jeongin sat on the counter between the two sinks. (Quietly thankful there was no water on the marble.)
“So what is going on with you and him?” The fox-like man asked.
“What do you mean?” Hyunjin blinked as he got one contact out.
Why did he choose to wear contacts? It was always a pain taking them out.
“I mean you decided to go when he said he was going. Seungmin offered to ride with you two because he knows how to drive and you turned him down.
Also at Mina's, you guys were like Minho and Jisung- obviously not sickeningly cute- but still attached,” Jeongin said.
The oldest sighed and put his contacts away.
“He is my friend, that is all,” Hyunjin said.
“Okay, that might be the label you two have, but is it how you feel about him?” Jeongin asked.
“I mean of course, he is my friend, Jeongin,”
“You know what Jeongin means, Hyun,” Seungmin said.
Hyunjin bit his lip, “I like him- I love him, maybe, but that isn’t what he wants. He wants a friend not a lover and I understand that and I will never push him to be more when he is not ready,”
“You can’t wait forever though… eventually you’re going to need to move on,” The youngest said.
Hyunjin pursed his lips and pulled down the sleeves of his sweater, “ Yeah I know… eventually it may come to that point,”
Would it come to that point? The point where he just had to move on? He didn’t want it to come. If it was up to him he could wait forever, he could wait several lifetimes for Felix if he was honest. Still he wondered if that point would come, where he moved on.
