The brunet groaned hearing the persistent knocking.
It was way too early for someone to be here and it was way too early for Felix to be up.
Opening the door, he shut again.
"Felix, can we please talk?"
Felix closed his eyes and let out a breath.
He opened the door and looked at Hyunjin.
"What are you doing here at five in the morning? I have work in three hours and I'd like to use that time to sleep,"
"I just want to talk, please,"
Felix sighed and stepped out of the way for Hyunjin to enter.
Hyunjin entered the flat and glanced around. It was definitely Felix, white furniture with blue accents everywhere. Pictures on the walls of friends and his sisters.
"What do you want to talk about?" Felix said, going into his kitchen.
"I'm sorry for what I did and for how I acted,"
"That changes literally nothing. You still gave me false hope for us for years and led me on for years, then when I reacted in a way you didn't like or understand, you got upset,"
Hyunjin pursed his lips, "I know it doesn't and I know you may never forgive me for any of this, but can I at least explain myself?" He asked.
"Fine, explain," Felix said, starting his coffee maker.
"There is no excuse for how I acted, really there isn't, I was upset and I shouldn't have said what I did.
As for what happened, I wanted to be with you, I did. It just began to feel a little overwhelming and scary after that month because it was becoming real among some other things, and I just wasn't sure... I should have told you about Sophia and I shouldn't have led you on.
I also should have told you about what was happening and what I was feeling. I just didn't know how to,"
"Did you love her?"
Hyunjin didn't want to answer that, he didn't want to hurt Felix more than he had.
"Hyunjin, did you love her?" Felix questioned again.
"I did,"
Hurt was clear on Felix's face.
"Did you love her when you proposed to her?"
"It is complicated," Hyunjin said.
"How? How is it complicated?" Felix questioned.
Hyunjin took a deep breath.
"Felix, I was never going to propose. Hell, I was never going to even date her. Yes, she was nice and someone I probably could've seen myself with if I didn't already love you, but besides that it just wasn't supposed to happen.
Yes, I was scared and yes it was overwhelming, but it never crossed my mind to actually be with someone else, because I love you and I always will,"
"Then why date her? If you had no plans to date her and if it never crossed your mind, then why date her?" Felix asked.
"Because someone threatened you," Hyunjin stated
Felix looked at Hyunjin confused, "What do you mean?"
"Around your birthday after... after I had bought something that was meant for you, I got letter to my place. It was delivered directly to my door instead of my mailbox.
There was a picture of you with Jisung at a mall or something, you looked happy. It was one of those stupid basic letters that said if I did what I planning on doing or if we even dated, you would be hurt and you know if it had been pointed towards me, I wouldn't have cared.
But it wasn't, it was you and I just couldn't let that happen. So I started going out with Sophia. I should have told you but I was scared that if I did I'd lose you and if something happened to you... I don't know,"
Felix was quiet. It was a lot to process.
"Did the threats stop?" Felix asked softly.
"Sometime after I proposed... the last one was about your graduation," Hyunjin said.
"Was there any like indication to who sent them?"
"There was a stamp wax. It looked like it had floral design with an 'H' in the middle, why?"
Felix held onto his cup a little tighter. Hyunjin could see the way Felix tensed.
"Felix what's wrong?"
The younger glanced at the clock.
"You should go," Felix said.
"What? Is something wrong?"
"No, I just need to get ready for work,"
"You just said you don't have work for three hours," Hyunjin said.
"I... I have plans before work, I am getting breakfast with someone and he is very punctual and I don't want to keep him waiting," Felix told him, setting his cup in the sink.
"Can I come back tonight so we can talk some more?"
Felix bit his lip, "I have a date tonight with the same person, uhm, maybe another day. You should go,"
The brunet left the kitchen and went to the door, opening it.
Yoon was standing there hand raised to knock on the door.
Hyunjin's jaw clenched seeing the man.
"You're early," Felix said.
"Actually I am on time," Yoon said showing Felix his watch.
"Right, my power went out and I never reset the clocks so they are off..." Felix muttered, letting out a breath.
"Felix, are you okay?" Yoon asked, holding Felix's hand softly.
Hyunjin looked away. He shouldn't be jealous.
"I am fine, it has just been a busy morning and I still need to get ready and I..."
"Lix, breathe for a minute," Hyunjin said stepping closer.
The look Yoon gave Hyunjin was nothing short of annoyance.
"Love, just breathe. I can text Lana and tell her we'll be a little late. Do what you need to, it'll be fine," Yoon assured.
Felix nodded, he looked at Hyunjin, "I'll text you at some point and maybe we can meet for coffee,"
Hyunjin nodded, "I look forward to it..."
Yoon stepped out of the way allowing Hyunjin to leave.
Once Hyunjin left, Yoon closed the door.
Hyunjin took a breath. He just hoped he could be at least part of Felix's life in some way.
