“Hyunjin?”

Hyunjin turned around, his heart jumping when he saw who it was.

  “Hyejun,” he said.

Felix felt absolutely confused, who was this?

“Mommy! Can I get this?” A small girl asked Hyejun.

  She was seven, maybe eight.

   “Uh, sure, honey,” Hyewon said.

The girl looked at Hyunjin and Felix, “Who are they?” she asked.

Hyewon blinked a couple times, “Uhm, just some people from a while ago,” Slightly a lie since she didn’t know who Felix was.

“I’m Hyejin Song, nice to meet you!” The girl said with a smile.

That made Felix tense. The girl’s smile just seemed so familiar.

“It is nice to meet you Hyejin,” Hyunjin said.

Hyewon smiled a little, “Uhm, I didn’t expect to see you here on the West coast. I thought you were still on the east,”

“I just moved here a few months ago. I thought you were still in Australia,”

“No, no, uhm, I moved here like three years after Hyejin was born,”

Hyunjin nodded, then his eyes widened a little, “Oh, Hyewon, this is Felix, he is a friend,”

Felix smiled and waved a little, “Nice to meet you,”

“What are you guys doing out so late? I remember how you hated being out late,” Hyunjin said.

“We are going to my parents' place and you know how my parents are, they want us there for lunch and you know,” Hyewon said.

Then it clicked with Felix. Hyewon was Hyunjin’s ex, his ex that he proposed to.

“Is Hyejin’s father here?” Hyunjin asked curiously.

Hyewon got a little nervous, “Ah, no,” she said, shaking her head.

“My mom said my dad is very nice and an artist!” Hyejin said.

“Well, we should get going. Maybe, we can catch up another time,” Hyewon told him.

Hyunjin nodded, “Yeah, that would be nice,”

The two left to the counter to pay for their stuff.

Felix took a breath and looked at Hyunjin.

“So… I should go. I still need some sleep, especially since I am meeting with Yoon,” Felix said.

  “I'll drive you back,”

The younger shook his head, “Don't worry about it, I live like right around the corner,”

  “Lix, please?”

Maybe Felix gave in too easily, but it was fine.

  “Okay,” he said softly.

The two threw away their trash and got into Hyunjin's car just as Hyewon and Hyejin were leaving.

Hyunjin gave the woman a slight wave and she waved back.

“Is Hyewon your ex?” Felix asked curiously.

   “Yeah,”

   Felix nodded.

He had always been a bit curious about the woman. She was beautiful and she seemed so sweet.

“Her hair used to be longer, but that was like seven or eight years ago. She looks good with short hair though,” Hyunjin mentioned.

Okay, that bothered Felix a little.

He always tried to forget that there wasn't really much time between Hyunjin and Hyewon breaking up and him and Hyunjin meeting.

It just bothered him a little. It always had.

Hyunjin pulled up to Felix's place and pursed his lips, “Hey, are you okay?” He asked.

Felix nodded,  “Yeah, I think I am just feeling tired. That was fun, thank you,”

  “Anytime,”

Felix gave a slight smile and left with a final goodbye.

Hyunjin sat there for a moment making sure Felix got into the build before he drove off.

His mind wandered back to Hyewon. Last time he saw her was when they broke up after he proposed.

He wondered what it would have been like if they had gotten married.

And maybe he should have been paying more attention.

Maybe he would have noticed the car running a red light.
