Faces Of You

   Felix sighed as he sat in the taxi with Hyunjin. The two were on their way to the dinner.

  “So what is this dinner anyway?” Felix asked.

  “It is kind of a casual business dinner I guess,” Hyunjin answered, after giving the driver the address.

   “Casual business dinner?”

    Hyunjin nodded, “Uh, the woman who won the date with me, she is the wife of a popular artist who has been opening galleries.

   The artist wants to showcase my art in the galleries after I finish university. I have decided if I want to do it yet, though,”

    “That is an amazing opportunity. Your art is beautiful,”

  Hyunjin smiled a little.

  “Yeah, it is, but I'm not entirely sure if I should do it,” Hyunjin said.

   “Why not?”

    “I just… I don't know. I mean I have a year and I think I just want to see what happens in that year before I accept or decline,”

  Felix nodded, “It would be difficult if you accepted and before the time came to go to a gallery, you got into a relationship,”

    “I don't think I'd be in a relationship before then,” Hyunjin said.

    The blond pursed his lips, “I was actually talking with Natty earlier and someone mentioned to her that you had been in a relationship before. In your freshman year,”

   Hyunjin pressed his lips together.

  “I, uh, I was in one. We were together for almost three years. Late second semester, we broke up, I proposed but she wasn't ready.

   Which makes sense, we were both barely 19. We stayed friends, but lost contact after she left sophomore year,” Hyunjin said.

   “Wow, that sounds like a pretty serious relationship,” Felix said softly.

   Hyunjin shrugged, “It was, but you know, it was probably for the best,”

   The older paid the taxi fare and got out. He held his hand out for Felix, who took it as he got out.

   The restaurant was small and mostly quiet.

   “Reservation for Del Rosario,” Hyunjin said.

   The hostess nodded and motioned for them to follow her.
 
    Two women were sitting at the table talking, their hands interlaced resting on the table.

    They both looked up when the hostess set down two menus.

    “Ah, Hyunjin, it is good to see you again!” Mika beamed

     “It is nice to see you again, as well,” Hyunjin said.

    “Hyunjin it is nice to finally meet you,” Hiraya said, standing up and holding her hand out.

    Hyunjin shook it, “It is nice to meet you too, Mrs. Del Rosario,”

   “Please, call me Hiraya,”

    Hyunjin nodded.

  “Come sit,” Mika said.

    The two sat across from the women.

    “I'm sorry, we kind of ignored you. I am Mika,” Mika introduced herself to Felix.

   Felix smiled a little, “I am Felix. It is a pleasure to meet you,”
