Chapter 37

KEHLANI POV

i woke up with the biggest headache of my life. I groaned and rubbed both sides of my temples with my hand.

" look who's finally up"

I didn't even need to open my eyes to know who said it.

" tashi my head hurtsss" I whined out.

" join the rest of us" her voice got closer.

I heard the sound of a pill bottle open.

I finally opened my eyes to see her with a glass of water and some ibuprofen.

i quietly thanked her and sat up slowly. I took the pills out of her hand and threw them in my mouth and then grabbed the water.

I washed the pills down and handed the glass back.

" trey got us all food this morning before he ran out yours is on the table" she said and I sighed.

" I'll be down once I feel better me and food won't be great friends right now" I said laying back down.

I heard her sigh.

" lani you gotta eat something, you were on a rager for the last three nights, now we all know why and that's why we let you get as drunk as you wanted to this week but we aren't letting you handle it how you handled it like you did when it first happened" she said patting my leg.

today marks the three year anniversary of y/n cheating on me. now to the public it looks like I handled it well and got over it but all my close people besides trey knows I'm still hurt by it to this day. 

I never understood why she did it. i thought we were good and happy. we both had our fair share of doing things but I thought we were finally getting right. when I finally seen her face to face after she did what she did she told me she didn't mean it and it absolutely would never happen again but I couldn't trust it, couldn't trust her. 

i felt a tear drop out of my eye.

" lani" tashi said softly.

she laid next to me and I put my head into her chest then broke down.

" why tash" I cried out.

she didn't answer she instead just comforted me and allowed me to let everything out.

" why did this event have to be scheduled for today out of all the days in the year" I complained to David. 

" keh I wish I knew but we told them you'd be there with Trey.. and its too late to back out" he said looking up from his phone.

" I don't wanna go" I groaned out.

" keh i know and if it was up to me i'd let you lay in bed and cancel all your things for today like we usually do but it's the day of, they promoted the hell out of this and I kinda told earlier on that we were still ready to go for today"

" there's no chance she will be there right?" I asked.

" keh she hasn't been seen in three years, the odds of h-"

he was cut off but Trey walking in.

" hey I was just checking to see if you were ready" he said with a smile.

" i'll let you two love birds talk it up" David said with a smile before walking out the room.

I took a deep breath before facing Trey again. he started talking about different things while I finished putting on my jewelry.

" you ready" I asked cutting him off mid sentence.

he nodded standing up.

he gave me a smile and my heart felt heavy but I smiled back.

" I know we haven't had the best luck but I'm glad we're trying to work on this"

" yeah I know me too" I said grabbing my bag.

" I love you"

" I love you too" I responded back.

the ride to the event was dreadful and even being on their red carpet was. I put on my best smile so we looked happy in the pictures but deep down I didn't want to be here at all.

" Kehlani you're on in ten " someone yelled through the door.

i just sighed and let Jay finish my hair.

once he was done I stood up and looked at Bennie.

" do what you do best and put on a show" he said with a smile.

" I will" I smiled back at him.

I love my little support circle they got me through whatever.

I was about to walk past them to get mic'd up real quick when Trey said something that caught my attention for the first time today.

" y/n just posted on Instagram"

everyone looked at him and I looked at tashi. she was rubbing her forehead.

" she posted to her story earlier, it was an old photo of her on a tour she captioned it while we wait" tashi said.

y/n is back to being active.. I wish she would've waited I don't know at least one more year, maybe I'd be fully over the cheating thing by then.

" I seen that already tash but I meant what  I said y/n posted on Instagram at the studio with a girl"

my heart completely dropped when he turned the phone and saw the girl in the picture. i immediately  read the caption.

" new music coming soon but first I'm dropping with the love of my life" creek read out loud.

trey brought his phone back to his face talking about how happy he is y/n is back while everyone else is trying to figure out my emotions.

i looked back at tashi but before I could say anything someone knocked on the door.

" Kehlani you're on in three"
