Killua stood outside the Hunter Association building, actually behind it. He was feeling quite broken. "It's over now. I will never have a true friend. If Gon insists that everything is okay when it's damn well not, then fine. Maybe Illumi was right after all—friends betray you if you get too close. How could I have been so stupid... No, no, no, it's their fault. How could I have been so damn dumb? Gon is such an idiot and a terrible friend. I'm supposed to always forgive him, and Illumi, that jerk, should stay away from my sister. And as for Gon, he can just leave me alone. I never wanted anything from him anyway. I've protected him all this time, and then this!" Killua thought angrily.

He felt like he had followed Gon around like a dog, protecting him, and suddenly it was as if Gon had let go of the leash. But Killua wasn't a dog; he had somehow shackled himself to Gon. Killua just didn't understand and began to cry a little.

Anyway, Killua had nothing left to do. He didn't want to think about Gon anymore, but what was he supposed to do now? Killua thought, stressed and extremely angry with Gon. Killua couldn't handle it all. He grew more nervous, and his electricity began to crackle strongly in his body again. His hair started to glow slightly and stood upright. Later, his entire body began to shine. "Shit," he thought, trying to hold it back. It worked partially, but then he heard footsteps approaching, which made him even more tense and nervous. And then the person arrived.

Mizaistom said, "Killua Zoldyck, Pariston would like to speak with you

Mizaistom said, "Killua Zoldyck, Pariston would like to speak with you." Killua glanced at the guy, finding him strangely resembling a cow for some reason. Then it occurred to him that he had seen him during the Hunter Exam—he must be one of the Twelve Zodiacs.

"What are you doing here alone?" the man asked Killua.

"That's none of your business," Killua replied casually.

"Fine, then follow me. I'll take you to him," Mizaistom said, signaling Killua to follow. Killua understood and followed him. Killua's head was slightly lowered as he quickly dried his tears, but Mizaistom glanced over at him from time to time.

The two entered the Hunter Association building again, then climbed the stairs until they reached the top. They proceeded to the room where only the Twelve Zodiacs usually met. There was a large table, and at the front sat Pariston in a luxurious gold chair. Gon was sitting next to Pariston on the right side. Gon glanced briefly at Killua but then quickly looked away, his expression a mix of sadness and anger.

Killua had a face that was hard to read, as he kept his gaze mostly down. It was clear he didn't want to talk to Gon, see him, or even hear him.

"There he is," Mizaistom called out.

Pariston looked up cheerfully. "There you are, Killua. Please, have a seat. Mizaistom, you can leave now," Pariston said with a smile.

Mizaistom made a frustrated and annoyed face but then left. Killua sat down across from Gon and avoided making eye contact with him. Killua could feel his body starting to tingle from the stress and electricity.

"So, here you two are, the sweet Hunter best friends, aren't you?" Pariston began. "Oh, come on, why is it so quiet between you? Did something happen?"

Pariston looked at Killua but couldn't see his face. He noticed that continuing to talk was making Killua increasingly angry. Although Pariston wanted to provoke him even more, he decided to focus on Gon instead.

"So, Gon, has something happened?" Pariston asked with an affectedly sad expression. Gon shook his head slightly and cast a brief, sorrowful glance at Killua.

"Well, if nothing's wrong, let's all laugh together, hahahaha... just a joke, you understand?" Pariston said in an annoying tone. Killua was on the verge of exploding, and for a brief moment, a hint of electricity crackled around him.

Pariston continued, "Anyway, let's get started. I've already told the other Hunters in the hall about what I'm about to share, so I'll repeat it for you. We've had some drama with the Chimera Ants, and now we're dealing with some other insects similar to them but not actually Chimera Ants. They come from a place called the Dark Continent."

At this, question marks appeared over Gon and Killua's heads. Neither had heard of the Dark Continent before, but they decided to let Pariston continue.

Pariston went on, "We can't visit the Dark Continent yet, but it might be possible later this year. For now, we have to deal with the creatures from the Dark Continent that have appeared in our land. These creatures are incredibly strong, but you're probably strong as well. If you bring us one of these creatures or a part of its body, there's a high chance you could accompany us to the Dark Continent. Sounds exciting, right? So do us a favor and participate."

Pariston presented the whole thing as if it were no big deal, which might have seemed the same to another person.

"Pariston, you've missed a few important points," Mizaistom said as he entered the room.

Mizaistom continued, "These new creatures are not comparable to the Chimera Ants. They're on a whole different level, possibly 500 to 1,000 times stronger than the Chimera Ants. Furthermore, most of them are located further away, so you need to be well-prepared. When we sent Hunters to the area where these creatures are, none of them returned. When we sent more, only two came back, and they were completely deformed. They were missing body parts, their skin had different colors, and they were most likely on the same level as you. They died the same day they returned, so take this seriously. Understood? And Pariston, please inform the younger Hunters about this beforehand. We won't tolerate any negligence."

"Yes, yes, even the best can forget things sometimes," Pariston replied. "Also, the issue with the missing Hunters wasn't entirely my fault. They insisted on going, and I even have the confirmation slips they signed. Want me to read them to you? And you two need to sign these as well," he said, looking at Mizaistom with a rather comical expression.

Pariston then stood up and fetched two forms, or rather, waiver forms that the Hunters had to sign, acknowledging that they would not hold the 12 Zodiac or the Hunter Chairman responsible if they died physical illness PTSD trauma , suffered body changes, or lost body parts.
