A Glimpse Into The Past

Daehyun’s POV:

The second I hung up on Deonne I went over to Youngjae and Himchan in the kitchen.

“What was that about?” I ignored Himchan’s voice and grabbed a banana that was placed in a fruit bowl on the counter. It was probably from a fan.

“I’m going to the hospital. Long story short, Deonne got hit by a car and is there with Yongguk, who’s watching her.”

“What?! My Gukkie is in the hospital! Is he ok?!” Zelo jumped up from the couch and ran over to me, but I didn’t reply to him.

“I’m not sure when I will be home. I guess whenever she is released. I don’t know when Yongguk will be back either, that’s why I’m telling you this. I will try to get him home by tonight, but if not take care of everyone ok. I’m counting on both of you.” They both nodded so I turned around and headed towards the door.

“Wait! I’m coming with you.” I sighed.

“No comment…” I grabbed my keys and walked outside to my car. I hoped in and started it as Zelo ran out of the door and opened the door to the passenger side sliding into the seat. The drive to the hospital was quick and silent. Zelo was too “on edge” about making sure his lover was ok to even speak to me.

As I was parking the car, Zelo was unbuckling his seat belt. When the car stopped, Zelo ran out and I hadn’t even shut the car off. I rolled my eyes shutting the car off and unbuckling, then got out too, running after him. When I ran inside, I saw Zelo at the front desk yelling at the lady.

“Where is my boyfriend?! He is alright, right?!” I came up beside him and suddenly all the anger came back to me as I thought of Zelo’s so called boyfriend somewhere in this death mansion with my injured girlfriend.

“Is Deonne still here? She didn’t leave did she? The man that came with her, he is still here too, right?!” The nurse pointed to a room that was literally right there. The door was closed, so I went to open it, but Zelo beat me to it. I watched as he hugged Yongguk and freaked out. Then I looked over at Deonne and all I saw was her. The anger from me drained instantly. I didn’t even hear Zelo’s and Yongguk’s voices.

We stared at each other, not sure what to do. I went over to where Yongguk had been sitting and pulled the chair up to her. I sat down and took her hands in mine holding them tightly. We continued to stare as I heard the door close in the room, but I didn’t dare look over. I could care less quite honestly. All that mattered to me was Deonne at this point.

“Daehyun…” She said softly. Her voice was like honey. I took one of her hands and kissed it gently.

“I’m so sorry I hung up on you, I was just so mad. Are you ok?” She looked down breaking eye contact with me.

“I’m fine…” Guilt and pain entered my chest. What had I done? She had been through so much and me yelling at her is not what she needed.

“Is anything broken?” She kept her glance down as she answered.

“Two of my ribs… on the right side… and a sprained ankle…” I could tell she wasn’t really happy with me. I needed to do something to make her feel better.

“Deonne… baby I am really sorry. I love you.” Once I said that her head snapped up looking at me with wide eyes. Oops.

“You… you l… l… love… me?...” Oh crap. I forgot that I hadn’t told her that yet. Only because I wanted to take things slow and we had only been dating for two weeks. I did love her, more than anything, but I wasn’t sure if she was ready to hear it. Well I guess I’ll find out now. I smiled softly.
