As the song began, the electric guitar's sound resonated through the room. A distinctive riff played in the intro, setting a haunting yet funky tone that defied traditional metal categorization. It was different and something new.

We were speeding together

Down the dark avenues

But besides of the stardom

And the truth of the matter is

The melody was dark and melancholic, using a unique key and mode. Yet, the rhythm and tempo were lively, creating a captivating contrast. The lyrics further added to the eerie theme, a hallmark of Ghost's music that has captivated audiences since their inception.

Mikha found the song familiar, despite not being a fan of the genre. She recognized it as a popular TikTok trend during the pandemic. Hearing it in full, she appreciated the genre more, finding the song catchy yet profound.

As the producers listened, they noted Jon's impressive vocal control.

"His vocal range is really good," one producer remarked.

"Indeed, Sir Mark," Martin agreed. "His range is quite diverse."

"I'm intrigued by the technique that gives his voice that eerie feel," Sir Aaron added. 

"Same here, Sir Aaron". Martin responded

"It feels like Ghost's Tobias Forge is here," Sir Aaron noted.

"You're a fan, Sir?" Martin asked.

"A friend introduced me to their music," Sir Aaron explained. "The blend of metal, rock, and pop was compelling."

Martin, usually unfamiliar with metal, was impressed by Jon's performance. As the song ended, the producers and Martin were visibly pleased. Mikha smiled, enjoying the song despite its dark theme. She could appreciate the genre, even though it was different from her music tastes. She was curious as to what the next could be, but her curiosity was interrupted by a familiar voice.

"Mikha? What are you doing here?"

It was Director L, the studio's lead on TV shows and the director behind Project "Bini." Embarrassed, Mikha explained she was watching a performance.

"Why don't you come inside with me?" Director L invited. "I heard Martin, our sounds guy, has hired a new musician for Bini."

"Oh, really? Sure," Mikha replied, smiling.

As they entered the recording room, Martin and the producers greeted Director L. They were surprised, however, to find Mikha with Director L. They were curious as to why one of the Bini members was here.

"Good afternoon," Director L said. "Mikha is here to observe the new musician."

Director L's response answered their inner queries, thus they were compelled not to ask anymore regarding the matter. Mikha greeted them and bowed her head as a sign of respect, in which they reciprocated.

Martin reassured Jon to start the next song. Jon switched from a Fender Stratocaster to an Ibanez RG IronLabel, ready for a heavier sound.

[Track 05: What If I Was Nothing – All That Remains]

The song began with a mellow acoustic riff, uncanny of something metal, but the lyrics soon added emotional depth.

As the verse ended, the electric guitar's powerful chords transformed the song into a metal anthem. Jon's deeper vocals showcased his range, and the chorus highlighted his ability to add texture to high notes.

Director L, impressed, asked Martin about Jon.

"Martin, who is this phenom?"

"His name is Jon, Direk L," Martin replied.

"What's his background?"

"He had a high school band, did some college gigs, but only pursued music professionally this year."

Director L was surprised. How had such talent gone unnoticed? Perhaps Jon had turned down previous offers. Regardless, Director L was thrilled to witness such a unique talent.

As Jon's guitar solo showcased his dexterity, Mikha felt inspired. She admired his ability to sing and play lead guitar simultaneously, recognizing his determination to challenge himself and grow as a musician.

When the song concluded, applause filled the room. Director L asked Martin to call Jon out.

"Hey Jon, can you come out here for a sec? Someone wants to talk to you."

Jon set down his guitar and exited the glass room, seeing the producers, Martin, and a man in a suit—likely the director Martin mentioned. Beside him stood a familiar face.

"Mikha," Jon uttered subconsciously.
