I wasn't surprised when I woke up to find Fen sleeping by my side, but what did annoy me with his cat that seemed to sneak its way into my room and onto my bed at some point in the night.

Fen's arm was securely wrapped around me and I should've been focusing on that, but I couldn't.

CJ, as Fen had taken to calling the cat after a series of back and forth arguing on whether he'd change the name or not, glared up at me with his knotted fur. He'd wedged himself between Fen and me as if trying to keep us apart. It'd been three days since I returned home to find him and in those three days, he'd proved to me he truly was the spawn of Satan and every other evil thing in this universe combined into one, tiny monster.

Fen didn't seem to share my sentiments though. He was obsessed with the demon he'd found which was the only reason why I put up with it.

I reached over and shook Fen lightly, much to CJ's dismay.

"Get up. We have a busy day today."

Fen had never been too deep of a sleeper, so he woke up fairly easily and glanced at me with confused, tired eyes. "What?"

"We have a busy day," I repeated and got out of bed. "It's eight-thirty right now. Your demon has a nine-o-clock appointment at the vet and a ten-o-clock appointment at the groomers which means we need to start moving. I'm not putting him in the carrier obviously, so that's on you."

Fen blinked a few times. "You made CJ an appointment?"

"If you're going to insist that he stays here then the least I can do is make sure he's healthy and comfortable," I explained. "That's not all we're doing though. We're getting you a phone."

"We are?"

"I'd like to have some way to reach you if I need to," I explained. "Didn't you have a phone at one point?"

He nodded. "I got rid of it not too long ago. I didn't want the added risk of being found."

"Well, we'll get you a new one."

"You don't have to—"

"I want to," I interrupted. "It'll make me feel better when one of us is gone for long periods."

"I thought you didn't want to be seen with me in town."

I winced at his wording. "It should be fine. Most tourists are gone, so we should be okay."
