Episode 3

"And you really have matured , in the old days , i don't know how many people would have died. Now you have excellent control over yourself. You have really grown up." Said the Boss , patting Eddie on the shoulder

"I'm very angry. And you better say nothing , don't make the situation worse! Why did you send to shoot Chen Yi?"

"SO that one stupid kid would realize the horror of loss , there's no point in wasting time playing hard to get.And you're not particularly calm , come back soon."

"You think since Chen Yi is fine , i won't hit you?"

"I don't doubt your abilities , so i brought you a gift. Your favorite hot pot."

"Why is your face on the packaging?"

"What? Came back , next time it might not be blank bullets. You know these people , nor mercy."

"Isn't it because you insist on handing over Jun to Chen Yi and the old people with this riff raff of discontent are muddying the waters and causing trouble. You're only 40 something , what's the use of leaving so early?"

"Because time is treacherous."

"A?"

"Very insidious. When you think that there is still a lot of it ahead , it hits you in the back , making you realize that there is negligibly little of it left."

Having finished this conversation , the Boss pats Eddie on the shoulder again and leaves. Eddie returns to Chen Yi's room.

"You don't have to pretend , the boss has already left."

"I'm not pretending , i thought it would be better for me not to see him. So as not to make you feel uncomfortable."

"But still , i need to make sure you're safe."

Eddie muttered and raised his hands to touch Chen Yi's forehead , his cheek , the hair on his neck. He let them run over his collarbones , to his familiar shoulders , and they stopped at Chen Yi's throat.

"I'm safe."

Chen Yi swallowed , and Eddie felt it

"Our people will take care of it."

Eddie ignored him but focused on how Chen Yi's pulse had increased.

" I need to make sure you're still alive. That you won't disappear again."

Eddie muttered and leaned closer , checking Chen Yi's breathing , a sign of his life , and immediately took another sip.

"I need to make sure you don't throw your life away before i do."

Eddie breathed , brushing his lips against a familiar cheek , and the subsequent shudder made him preen with pride.

"I must..."

The rest of his words turned into a kiss , Chen Yi's rough hands pulling him exactly where he wanted , where he needed to be. It was like an electric , shock Eddie's entire body began to move , hugging Chen Yi , engulfing him as he kissed back , his mouth opening wide , ready to feed Chen Yi with every breath.

It was intense , it was desperate and after long moments they parted , but not really , their lips still pressed together , swollen and red their foreheads touching

"In any case , my life is yours."

Eddie shrugged as if it meant nothing , as if the weight of the world had fallen on his shoulders.

"You can do whatever you want with her."

There was no air or rational thought left in Chen Yi's lungs except for this discovery , both and unexpected and well know fact.

With another open whimper , he pressed himself closer to Eddie , eager to crawl under the man's skin , into his heart , ready to settle down where he was always meant to be.

"Then i will save your life. And i won't let you lose you."

Chen Yi promised and prayed , offering to cut his heart.

"And i won't let you die , next time." Chen Yi replies and drags Eddie onto his bed.

Stretched out like a cat on him and his bed , Chen Yi couldn't look away. It was a moment of peace , the first time Chen Yi was able to do something he had barely dared to dream of for years.

There he was lying in his bed with Eddie in his arms. His wife slept quietly , still exhausted from everything that had happened over the past weeks. They made out only a little , their joint jerking was desperate and fast , and it only took a few minutes until the little gremlin was running out of strength.

"It's okay." Chen Yi said when he realized Eddie's disappointment.
"That's not true." His lover grumbled , and Chen Yi grinned with boiling excitement.
"That's true." He asserted , kissing Eddie's temple.
"Because we have enough time."

And now here he was , awakened early in the morning , the room barely lit , with Eddie in his arms , their shared heartbeat creating a soothing rhythm. It was almost too warm , Eddie's internal heat matched Chen Yi's but neither of them was still willing to let go.

Not tonight.

He gently stroked Eddie's cheek with his thumb , his nose , his fingers , through his hair , a familiar and reassuring gesture.

"He is willing to kill for this man , he will live for this man."

Chen Yi thought as he watched Eddie's chest rise and fall smoothly , perhaps one of the few times his softness was even noticeable.

He kissed Eddie's forehead.

"Everything is fine. We are together."
