While walking, I started to hear some people yelling and someone laughing. Ace. I immediately started running as fast as I could before hearing a gunshot pierce the air. I stopped dead, then ran again, assuming the worst. Is Ace dead? Suddenly, I heard more and more laughing from Ace, and the people stopped yelling.

Finally, I saw him holding a gun up in the air, and the police looked terrified. "Ace!" I yelled angrily. "What the hell are you doing?!" Ace's smirk disappeared when he saw me, and his expression turned cold and terrified.

"I told you to go!" he said, dropping the gun to the floor and walking over to me.

"Well, I thought you couldn't handle yourself!" I said. Ace looked madder by the second.

"You thought I couldn't handle myself?!" he screamed.

"Yeah, well, by the looks of it, you can't!" I screamed back. We kept shouting at each other until the police, fed up, all left.

"YOU CAN'T DO ANYTHING!" I yelled.

"I MADE THEM SCARED, DIDN'T I?!" he yelled back.

"DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING!! YOU CAN'T JUST SHOOT AND EXPECT EVERYTHING TO BE OKAY!" I screamed.

"THEY'RE GONE, AREN'T THEY?! STOP BEING SUCH A DRAMA QUEEN!" Finally, we both fell silent and walked back home in silence.

"You started it," I muttered. Ace looked at me sharply before sighing.

"Look, I'm sorry, but if we're going to do this whole fake-dating thing, you have to trust me, okay?" he said. Reluctantly, I nodded. He chuckled, and we finally made it to his house.

"Well... guess I'll see you tomorrow," I said. He smiled and nodded, then walked inside.

"No kiss?" I teased. He chuckled and closed the door. I smirked and walked back to my house, making my way inside quietly. I lay down on my bed and fell asleep.

The next day at school, Matteo and Zoe were waiting for me anxiously.

"What?" I said as I saw their concerned faces.

"Well... we heard what happened last night with the police and everything," Zoe said.

"And apparently, so did Chelsea," Matteo said.

"We think she's waiting for you," Zoe said. My heart dropped as I saw Chelsea walk in, holding Ace's hand possessively.

I felt a pang of jealousy and tried to push it down, but it only grew stronger. Ace saw me and smirked. I smirked back. Chelsea noticed this small interaction, immediately got mad, and made her way toward me.

"Heard about your little affair with the police last night with Ace," she said.

"And?" I replied.

"You aren't talking to him anymore," she said, smirking.

I felt a mix of jealousy and anger and saw red. "Don't tell me what to do. We were just hanging out," I said angrily.

"Hanging out doesn't involve the police. Don't. Talk. To. Him," she said.

Feeling brave and cocky, I smiled fakely. "Me and you. After school," I said. Chelsea looked surprised but nodded.

"I'll see you there," she said, walking away with Ace. Ace looked at me with concern in his eyes, but I nodded and mouthed that I would be fine. Why did I do that? Why did I let jealousy get in the way? Oh no. I think I'm starting to like him.
