''...Ace?'' I said, my voice still muffled. My back was pressed against his chest, and for some reason, I could feel his heart beating really fast. It confused me. I pulled his hand away from my mouth.
''Did you follow me here?'' I asked angrily. Ace rolled his eyes. ''No, I didn't follow you. I was busy exploring when I heard you and your annoying friends walk inside,'' he replied. Of course he would explore somewhere dark like this.
''Then why did you pull me in here?'' I asked. ''Well... I have to tell you something...'' he said, now sounding nervous, which wasn't like him. I narrowed my eyes at him, concerned and suspicious. ''Okay, what is it?'' I asked. Ace took a deep breath and rubbed the back of his neck nervously. ''I wanted to tell you this a while ago, but... I really, really like you, Autumn,'' he confessed, his cheeks turning a light pink. My breath hitched in my throat.
He... liked me?

I gulped, trying to swallow the whirlwind of feelings crashing over me. ''Oh... um...'' I stammered, unable to find the right words. I was speechless. Ace just stood there, hands in his pockets, waiting for me to react. ''Ace... I...'' I trailed off, unsure of how to respond.
Of course I liked him; I was crazy about him. And now he was crazy for me. ''I—I like you too...'' I finally managed to say. He smiled, then leaned forward and kissed me. For a moment, I froze, then slowly melted into the kiss.
He gently wrapped his arms around my waist, holding me in place. My hands found their way to his neck, fingers tangling in his hair. So this was how Ace's lips tasted. I didn't really remember it from when we used to date, but it was so addictive. I didn't even know why we broke up. Ace's arms tightened around my waist, and I let out a small gasp between kisses. That's when I realized something: I, Autumn Evans, was addicted to Ace. My enemy.
