The next day, I got ready for school in a panic. All night I had been stressing about what I would say to Ace. I mean, he had a girlfriend! What would he say to me? When I finally got to school, I immediately went to Zoe and Matteo. "Guys, guys, something happened yesterday. Apparently, I'm dating Ace," I said, panting. Zoe looked shell-shocked, while Matteo's face lit up. "I knew it. I knew you two had some chemistry," he said, giggling.

"No, no, I accidentally told my parents that we're dating, and now he's coming over tonight," I said. "Yeah, still chemistry. Why would you tell your parents you were dating him? You could've said anyone, and yet you chose him," Matteo said, smirking.

"Hey, you listen to m—" "Okay, okay, guys, this is not worth fighting over; just... ask him quickly to fake date you," Zoe interrupted. I rolled my eyes. "Fine. But like, where is he?" I asked. "Went into some empty classroom with a boy; I think he's your ex," she said. "Some gay shit over there," I muttered. "Hey," Matteo said, glaring at me. "The classroom's over there," Zoe said, pointing at a classroom. I nodded and made my way inside the classroom.

I then gasped in surprise when I saw my ex Barry, with bruises all over his face. Ace was there too, his face red with rage. When they both saw me, Barry's face was a picture of horror. "What is happening?" I asked angrily. "Oh, I'll tell you what happened. This prick tried breaking into your house through your window last night. I caught him just in time. I then told him that we would finish this at school tomorrow," Ace said, turning to me angrily.

"Listen, Autumn, everything that happened over summer, I'm really sorry for it. I never should've pushed you away," Barry said, inching closer to me. Ace looked away angrily, as if he was disgusted by Barry. "I miss you—a lot. I don't go a day without thinking about you," Barry said. He got even closer to the point where our bodies were pressed together. I was frozen in place, filled with fear.

His hand slowly made its way to my waist, pulling me closer to him. "And I'll make you feel loved again..." he whispered in my ear. His fingers slid down my thighs, and I grunted uncomfortably.

Ace seemed to notice and pushed Barry off me, and he fell to the floor, groaning in pain. "Ace—" But before I could finish my sentence, he pulled me out of the classroom and led me outside, stopping at his alleyway.

"Ace, it was fine; I—" "I don't care if it was fine, Autumn," Ace said, looking at me, anger burning through his eyes. "Now tell me, where did he touch you?" I slowly backed against the wall, shaking slightly. He didn't seem like his usual self. He seemed unstable, crazy. He seemed to... love me. "M-my thighs," I whispered, scared by the encounter with Barry. Ace looked away from me; he seemed to be trying to calm himself down. "I'm gonna kill him," he whispered.
