When I finally woke up again, I was on the floor, and my vision was blurry. Someone was standing over me, and as my eyes adjusted, I saw it was Ace. I groaned as I felt the pain in my chest. "What... what do you want?" I said.

"Nothing. Also, your chest isn't really that bad. It just needs some bandages, and that's it," he said, still smirking.

I stood up slowly, my chest still aching. "Where's Chelsea?" I asked, looking around.

"Oh, she's suspended for... two weeks, I think," he said. Why did he look so... smug?

"What are you smirking about?" I asked, crossing my arms.

"Well... I was going to tell you this later, but I told Chelsea about the whole cops thing," he said, giggling. My eyes widened, and my jaw dropped in shock.

That traitor!

"Are you kidding me?! You... you told her and thought that she wouldn't beat me up?!" I yelled angrily.

"Yeah, well... you kinda deserved it," he muttered.

"I did not! I could've died, and it's all your fault! Why would you tell her?!" I screamed.

"I told you not to come back, and you did! I told you I could handle myself!" he shot back.

"I bet you were about to shoot everyone and told me to run so I couldn't see it!" I yelled back. He chuckled darkly and looked away from me.

"You were, weren't you? Oh, I hate you. I'm going to get bandages. Don't talk to me," I said, walking away from him and into the nurse's office. Anger surged through me, and it only made my cut feel worse. Why the hell would he do that? And why am I fake-dating him?

Why did I ever decide that this would be a good idea? As the nurse bandaged me, I thought of ways to punish him, but all of them seemed useless. I left the nurse's office and saw Zoe and Mateo running toward me.

"Oh my gosh, are you okay?!" Zoe said, giving me a huge hug.

"I can't believe Chelsea would do that!" Mateo said.

"I'm fine, I'm fine," I said, chuckling as Zoe pulled away from the hug.

As I looked away from Zoe, I saw Ace and Chelsea busy laughing and giggling together. Ace kissed her, and I gagged and looked away. How I hated him!

"Maybe not so fine," I said, a wave of anguish washing over me.

"Ace?" Mateo said, looking back at me.

"Yeah, turns out he told Chelsea about the cops last night because I came back for him. The situation's just really dumb," I said, sighing.

"Okay, forget what I said about you two being together," Mateo said, making a disgusted face.

"You sure you're okay?" Zoe asked nervously.

"Yeah, I'm fine, I promise," I said. When school ended, I left and went back home, still angry at Ace.

"Hey! Where's Ace?" Aria asked as I walked inside.

"Not coming today," I said, slumping onto the couch angrily. Aria looked confused and slumped down next to me.

"Okay, what's going on with you? You and Ace seem like a good couple," she said.

"Aria, we're fake-dating," I blurted out. Aria looked shocked before bursting out laughing.

"Why?" she asked, still giggling.

"Well, I refused to kiss him one night when we went to that party, and now Zoe says boys will want to date me for one-upping him," I said. Aria laughed again.

"You are so stupid!" she said, her face red from all the laughing.

"I don't want any drama, plus before I started fake-dating him, I got texted things you don't want to know," I said.

"Oh. Well, you still are stupid," she said, pushing my shoulder playfully. She got up and left, and I sat there. I am such an idiot for ever thinking this would be a good idea.
