Episode 21 - Manslaughter
"Master!" Cammie cried, slamming open my bedroom door as I shot awake. "Master, hurry!"
I stared at her for a moment, breaths shaking at being startled so quickly.
But I scrambled off the bed and rushed toward her. "What is it?"
"Scarlet!" she sobbed. "Hurry!"
My brows drew together, and I rushed down the hall, controlling my breathing as I followed her.
We rounded the corner and entered the dining room, slowing to a stop.
My eyes immediately rounded.
Scarlet lay on the dining room floor, eyes wide open in surprise. Blood splattered all over from a wound on her chest, covering her whitened gown red.
I covered my mouth then, breaths straining.
Sebastian was already in the corner of the room, lashes lowered as he stared at her body.
Everyone else was here, too. Everyone except Sir Denver.
Madam Beth had her face paled, watching the body at her feet.
"What is happening?!" Matilda cried.
